bmoneylive
Hello, I just got a new laptop and I was trying to see if I could get OS X Lion installed on it. I currently have the following laptop: GT780DXR-095US • Intel® Core™ i7-2630QM Processor • Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64bit • 17.3" Full HD Anti-reflective Display (16:9; 1920 x 1080) • NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 570M discrete graphics (DDR5 1.5GB VRAM) • Accelerated performance with MSI TDE Technology • Full-color programmable backlit keyboard by SteelSeries • MSI Cooler Boost Technology • Dynaudio Premium Sound Speakers • 1TB hard drive in Raid 0 • 12GB DDR3 system memory • USB 3.0 for high speed data transfer • HDMI 1.4 (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) output • Built-in 720p HD webcam • 802.11 b/g/ n Wireless LAN with Bluetooth I formatted a USB drive on a Mac and then ran ##### as described on Tony Mac's site (http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2010/04/#####-#####-install-mac-os-x-on.html). I rebooted my laptop and choose the USB drive on the ##### screen. The "Choose your language" window appears at which time I have no keyboard or mouse support. I plugged in a usb mouse and keyboard which seem to work for now. I choose English and them I'm presented with the beginning of the OS X install. I then should be able to go to Disk Utilities and format/partition a drive for OS X, but when I open Disk Utilities all I see is the USB drive that the OS X install is on. I've tried removing one hard drive (laptop has 2x500GB in Raid 0), removing both and trying a compeltely different third drive, plugging in other USB drives and nothing else ever comes up on the Disk Utilities screen. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

bmoneylive
Yeah the SATA hard drives are set the AHCI by default and I've triple checked that. Thanks for the reply though.

bmoneylive
@buoo - Thanks for the reply...I have not tried that yet so I'll definitely give that s hot when I get home. Is there a specific file system I should format the disk or does Linux only use one file system?
bmoneylive
Wow...I'm an idiot. The hard drives are in Raid mode rather than AHCI..if I change to AHCI Windows no longer works. Anyone know of a way to get OS X installed on a system that has RAID 0 running? I would want to dual boot this with an existing Windows 7 Ultimate install. Am I making this too complicated? Did you managed to install the OS on it? Or abandoned the idea? Anyway, tomorow arrives mine gt780 (I think it is uniqe model with Optimus/IntelGC disabled) and I'll give it a shot! You can not install on raid partition 2 OS, maybe if yoi have partitioned it before in 2 partitions, however, Mac OS install utility must have drivers for raid support, only that way it can undestand there is a raid setup!
