Read up on all the stuff on trusted computing/TPM etc. It will give you a good idea on what Rosetta and it's counrerparts are all about.

 

And please, please, please learn how to search!!! The next person you meet may not be so nice as me. :(

Rosetta is a powerpc-to-intel dynamic translator. In english, this is a thing that will allow you to run old applications on an Intel mac before the author has a chance to port them over.
