jac-tict
Installer loading gets stuck on my B570! Right after the BIOS gets stuck on black screen. On another laptop installer start! Â I put iAktos L2 on an USB drive, I put a MacBookPro8,1 smbios, I installed latest Chameleon. Â Do you have any suggestion? Â I reply to myself. Now I have repartitioned the USB drive with Disk Utility and works (previously I have partitioned the USB drive with GParted in Ubuntu but wasn't bootable by the B570). Isopropylique
First, macinsane, thank you very, very, very much for your instructions. Â Second, to everyone else who's posted in this thread (especially Gokul), thank you! Â Third, I'm so so close to getting my Lenovo B570 working perfectly under 10.7.4. I was hoping that someone with more experience could lend me a hand. Â I'm using a 'whitelist' BIOS that allows my Atheros 9285 to work (the laptop arrived with an unsupported card). Default settings were applied and saved. Â I installed 10.7.2 first by using 'iAtkos L2' burned to a DVD. Despite my best efforts I couldn't get it put on a USB drive and have it boot. Â Once 10.7.2 was up and running, I followed your instructions (DSDT, kexts, etc.) and had no problems except for poor battery life. Â I updated to 10.7.4 using the combo update from Apple. I re-installed NullCPUPowerManagement before the update, then restored everything later. I had no trouble getting to 10.7.4 and getting everything working again, but the battery life was still poor. Â So, I figured I'd try Gokul's files, especially his SSDT.aml and updated kexts. I used MSRDumper to verify that various power states were working, and they are. I'm assuming that means SpeedStep is functioning? I'm not entirely sure. Â After checking my kernel.log, I can see a few potential problems, so here are my questions: Â Aug 20 00:19:42 localhost kernel[0]: AppleACPICPU: ProcessorId=1 LocalApicId=0 Enabled Aug 20 00:19:42 localhost kernel[0]: AppleACPICPU: ProcessorId=2 LocalApicId=1 Enabled Aug 20 00:19:42 localhost kernel[0]: AppleACPICPU: ProcessorId=3 LocalApicId=2 Enabled Aug 20 00:19:42 localhost kernel[0]: AppleACPICPU: ProcessorId=4 LocalApicId=3 Enabled Aug 20 00:19:42 localhost kernel[0]: AppleACPICPU: ProcessorId=5 LocalApicId=0 Disabled Aug 20 00:19:42 localhost kernel[0]: AppleACPICPU: ProcessorId=6 LocalApicId=0 Disabled Aug 20 00:19:42 localhost kernel[0]: AppleACPICPU: ProcessorId=7 LocalApicId=0 Disabled Aug 20 00:19:42 localhost kernel[0]: AppleACPICPU: ProcessorId=8 LocalApicId=0 Disabled I thought the i3-2330m was a dual-core processor. Â I just remembered. I don't think I'm using Gokul's SSDT.aml file. I'm using one that I found on another forum that was designed for the i3-2330m processor. It allows hitting many different states as verified by MSRDumper. Isopropylique
Have you enabled USB legacy in the BIOS?  I can't answer to questions about 10.7.4, but for poor battery life in 10.7.2 follow macinsane advices: install kexts from PowerManagement.zip (patched AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext and IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext) and remove NullCPUPowerManagement.kext and SleepEnabler.kext.  I get around 2.5h of battery life. Yes, USB legacy mode is enabled. Should it be off? When I first had 10.7.2 installed, I used macinsane's AICPM and IOPPF kexts. I could get 45 minutes to 1 hour of battery life. When I updated to 10.7.4, I was first using those exact same kexts because I knew they worked. I deleted NullCPU and SleepEnabler according to the instructions each time. Then, when the battery life didn't increase, I switched over to the AICPM and IOPPF kexts from Gokul's zip file. Upon reboot I got a kernel panic, so I reverted to macinsane's AICPM kext and all was well again. I'm able to boot normally and go about my business in OS X, but the battery life is still terrible.  I know the battery is alright since I was able to get 2.5 hours out of it using Windows 8 RTM. I installed it just to play around with it, and the battery had no issues while I used a browser, watched videos, etc.  So, a patched 10.7.4 AICPM kext causes me a kernel panic. Do I really need the new version of that kext for great power management? jac-tict
Right, USB legacy should be enable. Try to make the partition where you will restore iAktos smaller than 6GB (partition USB drive using Disk Utility and remember to select MBR mode, not GUID). Â Here the list of kext loaded in my system that give me about 2.5h of battery life (no differences with macinsane). Compare with yours. Hope this helps. Isopropylique
jac-tict, I started with the easiest fix, which is the org.chameleon.Boot.plist file. Using yours everything seems to work as before, but the battery just keeps draining quickly as it did before. Â I'm going to check my kexts against yours now. Hopefully there will be some answers to be had there. Â Grrr..... all in good fun though. Â I might try re-installing 10.7.2 from USB this time using your advice about how to get it booting correctly and just try the version number spoof. besttech
I had the same trackpad issue but then i used a different appleacpips2nub and voodoops2controller from this site. It fixed my problem  http://nawcom.com/os...ntroller/kexts/  I didnt use the voodoops2trackpad kext.  Install with kext utiility, reapair permissions and reboot.  Upgraded to 10.7.4 with everything working to get wifi working on 10.7.4 I used the files that Ifreak-x provided on page 10 of this thread  I didnt try running mountain lion yet. May be i installed it incorrectly. Do i need to remove any other files before adding the new files?  Secondly, i am facing some glitches with the graphics. Any idea how it can be solved?  Thirdly, my wifi doesn't detect all the wifi. In win7 it detects abt more than 6 but here sometimes a couple sometimes none.  Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/269586-lenovo-b570/page/10/#findComment-1846982 Share on other sites
iFreak-X
I am using the PS2 Driver from M.beast. No Problems. Uninstall first the voodoo driver. For graphic glitches try the newest FakeSMC, from M.beast too Does it find the networks with a good connection? Maybe OS X sorts out the ones with an too bad connectivity. data14
This is my 1st post so bear with me. Let me thank everyone on this forum especially macinsane for his great work. My laptop is the same as the 1st post except the CPU is i3-2350 and it came with Broadcom Wi-Fi card. Below are the steps on my installation: I purchased a new hard drive and partitioned it into 4 partitions. I installed Windows 7 on the 1st partition. I purchased a new card (AR5B195) and replaced the Wi-Fi card. I made an usb from iAtkos L2 on a borrowed MAC. I could not boot from usb so I burned a copy of iAtkos into a DVD. Boot w/DVD 1st then I selected the usb. Installed Lion and as have been said had to install smbios from 1st post to boot into desktop. I installed the AppleHDA and DSDT but could not pass the gray logo screen, so I removed both of them. Boot to desktop and updated to 10.7.4 Edit the IO80211 kext and got the Wi-Fi to work. Bluetooth works, if I restart from windows. If I shut down and restart from osx, I lose it. What does not work: sound, HDMI and sleep (camera worked OOB). Because I have a different wireless card I think that I need a DSDT without wifi. If someone needs more detailed instruction let me know. Can someone post AppleHDA and DSDT for 10.7.4 Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/269586-lenovo-b570/page/10/#findComment-1848212 Share on other sites

data14
I used the kext that I was using before. I tried to turn it on but nothing happens. I rebooted a couple times. Isopropylique
I tried DSDT and AppleHDA from that post. Now I have sound and HDMI but I lost my WiFi. Reinstalled the IO80211 kext but no WiFi. To be exact WiFi is there but I cannot turn it on. Any suggestion. Since you have the AR5B195, I have no kexts for you, but what worked for me (using an AR9285 here) was downloading the most recently dated kext I could find. The first major problem is of course making sure your device ID number is in the kext plist file (that's the problem I had under 10.7.2 and the driver macinsane posted). The second major problem is finding a driver that works well with 10.7.4.
