  1. Any chance to avoid CamTwist to "activate" webcam?

I understand that CamTwist should be needed when webcam native resolution is different from an iSight (any of its revision). Original webcam of Lenovo B570 (058F:A006) has a crappy 320x240 resolution (:-O). Even with CamTwist, I wasn't able to make it work in Skype. I found an easy way: I buy on eBay webcam of a similar Lenovo laptop and a higher resolution. I have bought a webcam for G575 (5986:0292) for $ 19 and work natively without CamTwist or AnyiSightCam.kext. You have just to pay attention that webcam has the same form factor and same connector. Removing the bezel is super easy, enjoy your DIY! :-)
  2. Lenovo B570

upload them to mediafire.com or similar. Thank you, I will try them and take time to update macinsane tutorial to 1.8.2 in the following weeks
  3. Lenovo B570

Great, I think because 10.8.2 system update doesn't overwrite AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext. Can you make a big favor to anyone of us? Can you zip your /Extra and /S/L/E directories and share them? I will happy to make a step-by-step tutorial for installing 10.8.2 from scratch on B570.
  4. Lenovo B570

I know that seems a stupid information, but can you copy and paste here your Voltage/Amperage with ML and that patch? To see it, you should pull the plug, set to min brightness, wait a minute and look for that informations in system profiler (under Energy menu) Thanky you!!!
  5. Lenovo B570

wow, data14 this is great news :-O What about battery life? At idle w/ minimum brightness, what power usage is shown in system profiler?
  6. Lenovo B570

I'm not able to use webcam with Skype (webcam preview is always spinning, even after I select webcam from CamTwist). Any hints? I've altro tried with beta version of skype 5.11. Is it working with UVC Camera Control? Can someone share the compiled binary of it, please?
  7. Lenovo B570

I fool 10.7.2 to think it is 10.7.4 and I successfully fool App Store and get downloads done. But I'm sad to say that latest Xcode doesn't run even if it was downloaded without errors.
  8. Hi guys, on MacOSX with DSDT patched by macinsane B570 doesn't reach the minimum brightness. I'm trying to look deeper, hope someone would help. In Linux: xrandr --prop | grep BACKLIGHT BACKLIGHT: 16 (0x00000010) range: (0,976) sudo sh -c 'echo 16 > /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness' Gives the minimum brightness. Hero DSDT: Scope (_SB) { Device (PNLF) { Name (_HID, EisaId ("APP0002")) Name (_CID, "backlight") Name (_UID, 0x0A) Name (_STA, 0x0B) } Maybe the problem is that macosx use 10 steps and actual driver has different granularity/lowest values?
  9. Lenovo B570

It's just an idea, I'm not sure that xcode is dumb enough to be fooled by that hack.
  10. Lenovo B570

It's cheating, I know, but have you tried workaround like this: http://www.macbreaker.com/2012/01/how-to-spoof-your-version-of-mac-os-x.html
  11. Lenovo B570

Right, USB legacy should be enable. Try to make the partition where you will restore iAktos smaller than 6GB (partition USB drive using Disk Utility and remember to select MBR mode, not GUID). Here the list of kext loaded in my system that give me about 2.5h of battery life (no differences with macinsane). Compare with yours. Hope this helps. 12. Lenovo B570

Have you enabled USB legacy in the BIOS? I can't answer to questions about 10.7.4, but for poor battery life in 10.7.2 follow macinsane advices: install kexts from PowerManagement.zip (patched AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext and IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext) and remove NullCPUPowerManagement.kext and SleepEnabler.kext. I get around 2.5h of battery life.
  13. I have a Lenovo B570 but I think that the problem/solution would be pretty common. Can you give me some hints to find a solution to avoid CamTwist? Thank you guys
  14. Lenovo B570

Installer loading gets stuck on my B570! Right after the BIOS gets stuck on black screen. On another laptop installer start! I put iAktos L2 on an USB drive, I put a MacBookPro8,1 smbios, I installed latest Chameleon. Do you have any suggestion? I reply to myself. Now I have repartitioned the USB drive with Disk Utility and works (previously I have partitioned the USB drive with GParted in Ubuntu but wasn't bootable by the B570).
  15. Per favore specifica nella guida che quando si ri-aggiungono le periferiche di rete l'interfaccia con filo deve essere la prima (en0), o almeno a quanto pare se si fa così si evitano molti problemi.
