NickRiley
I had a perfectly working 10.6.4 running on my hardware, untill I decided to upgrade to 10.6.8 following the guide from here and using the combo update. I installed the custom 10.8 kernel according to the guide. after restart I've got the KP [see attachment] I've been trying many things, boot with -f flag, create new .mkext, installing AppleACPIPlatform.kext & IOPCIFamily.kext from 10.6.7, nothing helped, not even being able to boot with -s. I was looking for a solution for days now already, and I'm out of ideas, so any other ideas and help will be really appreciated! smartie77
IOPCIfamily and AppleACPIplatform need to be of the same release version. Are you sure both are of 10.6.7 ? try booting with npci=0x2000. As you are on a AMD as far as I can see, try adding a maxmem and a bus ratio value. for example to boot -v arch=i386 npci=0x2000 busratio=20 maxmem=2096 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/266874-kernel-panic-after-updating-to-1068-need-help-booting/#findComment-1743151 Share on other sites
Gringo Vermelho
Here's how to find your actual bus ratio: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=240542 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/266874-kernel-panic-after-updating-to-1068-need-help-booting/#findComment-1743169 Share on other sites
NickRiley
Thank you for your replies, I somehow managed to boot it, but in the end I had to make a fresh install, as I couldn't fix my WiFi, so for now I'll stay with 10.6.7.
