The Windows Tweaker
Hello everyone. I would like to ask for all of your help again. With al you support i have made a perfect bootable Lion installation on my Acer notebook. Many thanks for that! I noticed a few errors during the boot processes. I can't find out where these problems are related to, so thats why i would like you help. I have uploaded a picture of the bootscreen. My Lion installation boots completly, but i would like to optimise it. I use the "Chameleon-2.1svn-r1406" Many Thanks! smartie77
you installed Lion over an existing Snow , right ? I had the exact same messages.. Lion seems to try to load kexts that are no longer supported. It will only go away if you clean install Lion. The Windows Tweaker
Oke, so thats the reason. When i do a clean install. Will it be enough to set back the "Extension" map in S/L/E to have it perfectly running again? Gringo Vermelho
What do you mean by "set back the Extension map"? If you mean using your entire S/L/E folder from Snow Leopard I don't see how that would help with anything - if it's true that loading Extensions from Snow Leopard is what's causing your issue in the first place. Hint: All the profile kernel extensions that it's complaining about are plugins inside AppleProfileFamily.kext. The Windows Tweaker
Oke. so thats a good hint. Is it save to delete these profiles in that .kext revering to the errors in the bootloader? Gringo Vermelho
I don't know, I'm not running Lion yet. The profile kexts are power management profiles for different types of Intel CPUs. I have native CPU power management with a Core 2 Duo E8500 and on my system the AppleIntelPenrynProfile is loaded. Screenshot from System Profiler on 10.6.8 - compare with yours Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/265920-strange-boot-error/#findComment-1739021 Share on other sites
buoo
Have you installed xcode 3 ? Time ago I had the same issues after its installation, Lion only requires xcode4.
