Dear All,

Has anyone else experienced problems with finder crashing all the time?

I installed Lion using the well documented USB stick method using my own DSDT.aml.

I've tried reinstalling a few times without any joy.

Thanks

Regards

Jon

Hi

I've followed the install guide to the letter but finder still crashes also I've noticed that preview also crashes.

I don't think that its down to the install stick as that worked fine on another machine.

Do you think it could be down to the 8800 GTX?

Thanks

Jon

Well, maybe

Try to add EFI string for gpu (with EFI Studio etc)

go to extra/open com.apple.boot.plist

remove

<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>

<string>Yes</string>

add

<key>device-properties</key>

<string>YOUREFISTRING</string>

Don't forget to repair permissions correctly after installation! (kext wizard 3.7.10 etc)

Reboot

If efi method still doesn't work for you

remove

<key>device-properties</key>

<string>[YOUREFISTRING]</string>

Install NVEnabler_64bit (google it) with kext wizard in extra folder

repair permissions, rebuild mkext

reboot

Check QE/CL

Good luck :)

I actually also have this issue, that if i am using the mac, with minimal finder use the system is fine and stable, if i start copying files in finder (not tried the terminal yet) Then i start to get lockups.

Im on a nForce 7, XFX 780i motherboard, with a GTX295. I also followed the instructions too the letter, and have installed twice in an attempt to fix it (i though the crashes were caused by something i changed.)

Thanks for the reply ErOSx86

I've now reinstalled for the 10th time and tried all the fixes suggested by lemon tree.

I'm not sure what to try next maybe a different graphics card.

Does anyone have an extra folder for a EP35-DS3 I can try just incase I've made a mistake?

Thanks

Regards

Jon

more info plz

example

GA P35 DS3L Rev2.0 ICH9 ALC888

Intel Core2Duo E4600 @2.4Ghz

Asus GF 8600GT 512 DDR2 Silent VGA

WD 320 gb Sata2

Extra folder

Do not use Time machine

Do not use Dropbox, totalfinder etc

If you have more than one HD, problem may be caused by NTFS partition.

Use paragon ntfs driver

There is also a lot of problems on real macs (try google finder crash on lion)
