dlerch
So I have a relatively quick PC running Windows 7 Ultimate. Specs: Asus P5Q Pro Turbo Mobo CPU: Q9550 3.4ghz OC Gskill 8gbs DDR2 Ram SLI GTX 260s Yes my board is non SLI, but I installed the SLI patch for Windows and it works flawlessly. I need to get SLI working on OSX. As Snow Leopard fails to boot with a 2nd GPU installed. So I have three options: Get SLI to work on OSX Buy a more powerful graphics card that is faster than my SLI setup now and it must be supported by OSX. Or just find some way to disable my 2nd card when I choose to boot OSX. Any help? Whoever solves it gets a reward. iquit040
I have GTX460s running in SLI in my computer for win 7... in lion they both work independently. This was not fun to get working... You need a DSDT and to edit it to give addresses of the cards... I'm attaching my dsdt for you to see what i did.... i have a section in there for hdmi audio, but won't work for you and if you don't have hdmi, might be an pain... so might need to drop that out if you are cutting and pasting sections from my DSDT http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2010/01/adv...a-graphics.html that post shows you how to edit for one card... so you may have to do these steps to get the correct info for the cards, make/edit a dsdt and the put the second card in after putting the dsdt in the extra folder before the final shutdown before adding the second one in. you will need DSDTSE to open and edit DSDT files. I was working with dsdt auto patcher from Mald0n and talking with him when i was having issues with my setup (my power management was causing kernel panics) just sharing some info and letting you know dual cards is possible, but SLI will not work in OSX... upside is the 4 monitor option for me now and not having to remove a card to get osx to work iquit040dsdt.zip Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/263889-gtx-260-sli-in-osx/#findComment-1724987 Share on other sites
dlerch
That seems like an easy fix, only one problem I installed ##### after I upgraded to 10.6.4. Just like the instructions asked me to, then I installed the nvidia injector. Now I am getting a pci configuration begin message when I -v boot. With both cards in and with just one card in. How the heck can I use the DSDT editor if I can't even get it to boot anymore? Can I edit them from command in ##### or with #####? I am at a loss here and I really do not want to have to reformat the install and start over again. Any help would be much appreciated.
