Hi, my specs are P4@3ghz 1gb RAM, ASROCK 775 dual 915gl, with all onboard hardware working satisfactory. itunes ok, vlc ok, band in a box ok (with minor glitches in sound some times), Reason 3 opens ok, but if your sequence has more than 2-3 tracks, it starts having "hickups" and if you start adding tracks, playback stops and you get a message "computer too slow", asks for audio optimization through reason's prefferences. Ableton Live 3 working, same stuff as reason, the less tracks you have, the better it behaves.

Tried Digital Performer 4, but as soon as it loads MAS, a message appears saying: cannot use the coreaudio driver as it is currently configured because no outputs are available. You must configure the driver so that the motu audio system can use at least one output pair. Believe me, i've tried everything i could, with the only available card being the AC97, tried SPDIF, tried PCM, tried aggregate device, you name it, i tried it, all combinations possible, both through the Configure Hardware Driver of performer that pops up, and through the Audio setup utility for the OS. Once i give my settings and press ok, i get this: Digital Performer Error:

Mac OS error: Resource was not found (-192).B)

Any ideas welcome, let the rest of us know if you got any audio soft working sat. By the way, my DVD-R (Sony URW14A) works perfect, with Toast. Have already burnt plenty of cds and dvds. ;)

I suspect it's because AC97 driver from Darwin doesn't support hardware acceleration which is required by MacOS. I have the same motherboard and even WAV playback in iTunes is skipping.

I am not that concerned with iTunes, it played perfect with any files i threw at it, and it played perfect even on my HP Pavilion laptop which i tested booting X through an external USB drive. My worry is with serious audio software...

Just to let you folks know, it appears the 4.0 version of Digital Performer appears to be incompatible with this OS. I installed version 4.5 and it works, but there's things to investigate, because as soon as i start playing a project (be it MIDI or audio) the program terminates! Has anyone managed to use his/her microphone within any program 'till now? please let me know...

I have old Emagic EMI2|6 usb sound card , and sucessfuly istalled on X86 . but I am now trying to install Logic Pro , now I cannot run any of the PPC software on my ESS3 PC , and trying to solve this problem .

And I hear that someone here said that Logic Pro use USB Xkey to run , but this Xkey use USB driver , I have xkey , but I donot know if it's possible to run them well on PC x86 , if anyone sucessed here , give me some suggestions pls!!

Thanks!!

My point is if iTunes doesn't work, don't expect any serious audio software to work. The situaition is the same as with non-accelerated X86 video drivers: kexts from Darwin have only basic functionality, nothing more, nothing less. In terms of Windows these drivers do not support DirectX (CoreAudio in Macs.)

Hi, I have an other problem with my emi A26. I have installed drivers n mac os x 10.4.6 (on IBM t42) but the sound card doesn't work. Even in System Preferences/Sound I see only the AC97 internal sound card.

While with drivers for MT4 it seems working fine. Can you help me to install Emi A26 on my mac?

Thank you

Mario
