@MaLd0n,

Thanks for the DSDT update. Is this going to be a global update for all current Patches in auto patcher or just Sandy Bridge PC's and Laptops?

Most of the patches

but

we have to test it all

ok?

Jeff,

for some reason on my g73sw im getting some strange things. when i install fresh install and use your package from the front page, I having 2 issues.

1. No 64 bit mode, when i go to about mac/ software/ 64 bit it says NO

2. No sleep it will shut down but not wake up.

I had your dsdt file from 10.6.7 replaced it, Now im getting 64 bit but no sleep

I seen you had a new package, and i tried that dsdt file, and i now have 64 bit with no sleep.

I seen that you said you are using sleepenabler in a post, but its not in your package, do i still need sleepenabler.

thanks

Daryl

Daryl, just use the new update for now until I get back in town.

Jeff,

I was able to get everything working with a fresh install and your NEWEST package, except backlit

I was noticing you were working on it with a file, but i never seen a post of it.

What or where should i be looking to get the backlite to work?

sleep, lid sleep, awake, usb3 all works fine, just not backlit, and with my ol eyes thats a nice feature. lol

Thanks

Daryl

Daryl, I just uploaded a new package. backlit works after you wake from sleep. It lacks GeForceGLDriver.bundle, if you got my new update package it's in there! Just to let everyone know that if you plug usb mouse/external drive while it's booting with this setup, it will KP. I have not found a solution to usb fix yet! I think we need to find another kext for touchpad/keyboard/mouse. Please let me know if any thing fails. The only kext I had to replace is AppleACPIPS2Nub, AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement 159 and GeforeceGLDriver.bundle for this package. Other than that, it's all original 10.7 kext's plus the add in for ethernet, audio, multitouch mouse/touchpad, USB 3.0.

hi Jeff,

Thanks for the updated package, I still have no sleep. But i didnt do a fresh install with the newest package, just installed over what i had.

I do have the same problem about usb mouse and KP.

Thanks

Daryl

UPDATE: For completeness, i did a fresh install and used your latest package, every if working except for backlit, iv even tried the other fix, about the windows files. lol no luck

backlit worked great in 10.6.8, so I'm sure its just a simple config somewhere, i just don't know where. can i just install the 10.6.8 package of yours ? will that work under lion?

Unless i find a solution, ill just stay here until you get back in town. thanks

UPDATE Update:

Ok i tried the extra file.zip that plourde put up and everything is working great, sleep, battery, backlite, but now i cant boot with a usb plugged in. going to go back to to your previous package and use plourdes extra folder, and everything should work perfect.

My geekbench is 9600 - 9700 so im happy with this setup.

ill post back with final results.

anyone noticed that the speedster for lion gm 166 is not working correctly! It shows the speedsters but my geekbench never gets above 6800.

Jeff,

I've been consistently in the 97xx to 98xx range in Geekbench. I'm on a G74SX-BBK7 and have 16GB memory, the Dell DW1510 for a wireless card, and the GTX 560M.

I'm running a DSDT from MaLd0n based on my machine (previous to the possible updates that I've seen a few posts back), and the Lion GM AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext that I patched using flaKed's GM patch. Only other differences are that I'm using the vanilla GM IO80211Family.kext (due to Dell DW1510 being recognized "out of the box"), installed Lnx2Mac's RealtekRTL81xx-0_0_67%2B.pkg instead of the RealtekRTL81xx.kext in your package (probably no difference), and have no specific nVidia Fermi driver install package available yet (not an issue).

BTW, thanks for all of your efforts and for MaLd0n's participation in this thread and his efforts.

I tried to get the card reader to work, but there is a fundamental configuration issue that doesn't configure the card specific to required power, device class, device subclass, device protocol, and possibly needs a "Probe all LUNs on each SCSI device" setting in mach_kernel to accomplish this. Same issue in Ubuntu that it doesn't recognize our card reader. Haven't had a chance to compile a kernel in Ubuntu with a "Probe all LUNs on each SCSI device" setting to verify this (due to lack of time and lack of knowledge).

@westsdad,

I am seeing the same issue as Jeff around 6800 Geekbench score for me. Its the floating point score on the processor that is bringing my score down when I compare it to yours.

Maybe the GeForceGLDriver.bundle hex mod by Netkas is causing this or not, or is it the AICPUPM Speedstepper GM Speedstepper mod causing this? Are you using the Module Azimutz made for us? He said it would be in later builds not sure if it is yet or not?

Have you done the hex mod on the GL binary or just using the module Azimutz prepared with Cuda only?

Thanks

oSxFr33k, I had gone back to AICPUPM 159 for speedstep. As far as I know, this is due to stepper mod, not GeForceGLDriver.bundle hex mod.

You are getting those kid of scores because you are using geek bench 64 bit version. Unless you have higher core I7. I have tried to fix the card reader with no luck!

Thanks for the link! It's working great without login pop ups anymore and I had changed it in OP.

During all these changes, I had lost backlit too! I know one time I had reverted back to 10.6.8 AICPUPM, AppleACPIPlatform and IOPCIFamily for backlit and sleep to work. But the only problem was it will KP after restart!

@jeffc2009,

That was it jeff, it was the AICPUPM version 166 that gave me the lower score so I put the 159 back and my geek bench score is now 9715 now where it was 6800 before. The 6800 score was also in 64 bit geek bench.

MaLd0n, can you look at these files for me! For some reason, when i use these files I can boot without having to pull all usb devices but it won't sleep/backlit keyboard/sleep on lid close nor will it get wifi. I gotten these files from Chameleon system preferences/Bios! Can you fix only those problems on dsdt or on separate .aml for wifi and sleep? Is this kinda what Revo do?

@jeffc2009,

Spoke too soon I dunno why my scores where 6800 the other night but I tried it again with AICPUPM build 166 GM and my score is now 9688

I had noticed that the cpu throttles when it wants to, that's why I went back to 159! I also noticed that in msrdumper/console. Doesn't matter when or what you dump at the cpu, stepping was all over the place.

Hey Guys,

Here is what iv done to active fully working install,

I used Jeffs 2nd package, and then used the zip file from plourde, I installed everything from jeffs packages, but i used the dsdt file from plourdes file.

with his battery indicator fix as well.

All is working well, I'm getting a geek bench 64bit score of 9500 -9600 its a bit lower but i got backlit working so its worth it.

One question:

Is it possible to somehow to increase the volume in the voodoohda next. its got good volume but i think it could be a bit louder. Any ideas?

Thanks

Daryl

@dfris,

Thats interesting. The DSDT file fixed both the battery indicator and Backlight using the FN key? If that is the case then MaLd0n should be able to modify our DSDT for those fixes. This is in no way outside of his knowledge and if it were possible to include this fix it would been done since Jeff had already asked him about this in MaLd0n's autopatcher thread from what I remember.

Can you attach this DSDT I wanted to have a look at the sections that fix those two areas. Thanks

AAPL, has embedded FN keys

use textwrangler to compare .dsl ;)

installed Lnx2Mac's RealtekRTL81xx-0_0_67%2B.pkg instead of the RealtekRTL81xx.kext in your package (probably no difference)

WRONG. i could NOT wake up with RTL2.0.x . i use Lnx2mac driver now.

oSxFr33k,

I'm using the 2 byte hex mod on the GeForceGLDriver.bundle, addition of the vendor and device ID in NVDAGF100Hal.kext, and the cuda_devdriver_4.0.19_macos.

Used the Chameleon version and module from Azimutz and the cuda_devdriver_4.0.19_macos with the same results.

jeffc2009,

Good to know. Have the same core i7 as the G73SW. I spent a lot of time trying to get the card reader to work and never succeeded.

I use DiffMerge love it.

I compared the two DSDT and they both have the exact same AAPL script.

Here are the differences:

HPET

Plourdes DSDT has IRQ 0,8,11,15

MaLd0ns DSDT has 0,8

The USB are named UHC in Plourdes

_OSI Darwin not fixed in Plourdes

Spurious differences of Returns throughout the DSDT returns zeros and returns ones

COncerned about these two differences:

Device (SBUS) added into Plourdes DSDT. Is this necessary?

Under EHCI device ID difference?

Jeffs id is 0x26 and Plourdes is 0x2D

No, The dsdt fixed the backlit, working after a wake, the battery as well, with the help of voodoo battery.kext. Jeff dsdt would not work with voodoo battery.

So there is something to do with the dsdt files.

I agree, there is something different between the two, I actually PM maldon about this, but have not got a response, maybe you can contact him.

Here are both links to the files.
