sailorjerry81
I have an older pc I'm not using because I use a macbook pro and I would like to install OS X on my machine.. or any Mac OS if its possible. I've tried using ##### and my os disc as well as an image of an os disc from a jump drive.. I get the apple logo then a lot of script and then it just freezes there. Any help would be appreciated. this is my system. sirbow2
yes , you will have to use a legacy kernel though as pentiumD's arent "Core" architechture CPU's. ##### legacy boot cd, boot 132 legacy cd. where does it get stuck?? pic or write it out. Adam Sleith
Yea it appears to be all good. I googled your motherboard and people seem to be having success. As sirbow2 said, you will have to use the legacy kernel because you do not have a core 2 cpu. I would highly recommend the "hazard" distro of snow leopard. It is also easy to update because the kernel is kept up to date I used hazard on my asus motherboard before I used the retail install on my gigabyte ga-g31m-es2l board Good luck with your hackintosh my friend Adam Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/261115-os-x-on-asus-p5lp-le/#findComment-1709894 Share on other sites
ifrit05
I would highly recommend the "hazard" distro of snow leopard. It is also easy to update because the kernel is kept up to date iATKOS also keeps the kernel protected when doing a System Update, so it feels like your on a Vanilla Install when your using a Legacy Kernel. I would use iATKOS with that Motherboard/Chipset (I have the same Chipset). The install options are easier to understand too and are laid out more professionally. MacFaceKing
Did it work? I don't see why it shouldn't. Mac OS is Linux-based, and I've gotten Ubuntu and other Linux-based OS's to work flawlessly, so it should be fine. catalystTGJ
I've managed to get an HP m8020n that has the same mobo as this one working with both iATkos L2 and then later #####, but having problems with the sound (Realtek ALC888), video (which is an 8600GT 512MB), built-in ethernet (Intel Pro 10/100 VE) and think sleep quit working on me, but i'm not sure. I need to recheck that. Other than that everything else is working. Installed a TP-Link TW-951N card to get OOB wireless. So far so good!
