Concha
I'm attempting to install 10.5.2 on an older machine (compaq presario r3000). It boots in verbose mode by default and when it finishes doing its thing I can hear the setup music and input sound when I press a key on the keyboard but the screen remains frozen on dsmos: Starting... =/ Is this because there's some kind of problem with my video drivers or.. ? If someone could help me I would be immensely grateful. CPU is AMD and graphics processor is nVidia. Gringo Vermelho
Your video card is not supported, read: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=138695 btw I found this in 15 seconds by simply typing "Leopard Geforce 4" into google and quickly skimming the search results. You could have done this yourself instead of sitting around for two days and finally posting "Anybody?" and you would have gotten the information you're looking for - immediately. [PT_BR] E aí Gringo! Colorado ?! [/PT_BR] Don't need to be rude to the guy... the thread you mentioned is just another guy which couldn't make it work - that doesn't mean it is not supported. I'm also interessed in make a hackintosh with my old Compaq Presario R3000. I read that some people could make it work at some level, but all threads I stop by have no answer for this. By the way, seems that the video card does work: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=45253 I have installed verison 10.4.7 on my presarion R3000 (AMD and 512 ram) and every thing is slow. http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...10.4.3/Desktops TOSHIBA Satellite 2450 Hardware: P4 (no SSE3), 256 MB RAM, Nvidia GeForce4 420 Go (32 MB) Instalación: Nativa, arranca perfectamente de la unidad DVD e instala sin problemas en una partición de 20 GB (compartiendo con Linux Ubuntu en otros 20 GB) pero no reconoció el sonido (Intel 82801DB) aunque hasta este momento el desempeño es muy bueno. GeForce 440 Go is NOT Supported, and NEVER will be. Period. You might get basic VESA video (1024x768), but no Hardware Acceleration (Quartz Extreme/Core Image). That laptop is NOT a good candidate for OS X. Sorry.
