linuxbox
I tried running bootcamp on my custom made system (celeron D 3.2, intel 915grv) and it says my firmware needs upgraded. Is there anyway to run bootcamp on a custom pc?
exscape
Probably not, since the Intel Macs use EFI. Why would you want to? There are better ways to multiboot.
linuxbox
Is there a way to do it once i already have osx installed? (without reformatting, installing xp, then installing osx...)

Riffer
theres no point to installing boot camp on anythning other than a mac because it allows other systems to be booted on a mac.. PC'S ALEARDY BOOT THOSE SYSTEMS IF YOU THINK PUTTING BOOTCAMP ON A PC IS AN IDEA, YOU NEED TO LEARN BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS

Colonel
Let's settle this right here. Geniune PCs can't run Boot Camp due to the lack of EFI.
dary23
I too realize that there are other methods of dual booting, and am currently using the Darwin boot loader which works just beautifully. The only thing that I would like is the eye candy that boot camp brings along. IT WOULD BE NICE IF YOU COULD JUST EXTRACT THE PARTITIONER AND BOOT LOADER (sorry about the caps) from boot camp and just use those. Not actually install boot camp, but use the boot loader with all the gui goodness. Just my 2c. Dary23
MarkW
Don't have a real Mac, so have never tried BootCamp, but I imagine there is a way to specify which OS to boot into after a restart. That would be a nice capability to have.
Linker-
so why not just get grub and fluff it up a bit?
