plprado
Hi, I have this weird issue: every once in a while when I wake my hack from sleep the screen will be like in this photo I attached in this post. It's like a "white noise"... When this happens the solution is draggind the mouse to the upper left, as I set my expose to "put display to sleep". When I move the mouse again and it comes back from "monitor sleep" the screen will be normal again. So, any clues on what could be causing this? thanks! mast3rpyr0
Thats very interesting... could it possibly be an issue with your monitor? how old is it? Nemorosus
It's not a problem with your monitor, apparently your graphic card is not supported natively, or you just installed wrong kexts in the distro (if using one). Tell me your specific graphic card, please and what kext (if any) did you install for it... And has the installation been successful, or no? plprado
I use chameleon and graphic card injection through GraphicsEnabler boot.plist key. It recognizes my graphic card correctly, which is GeForce 8600GT 512MB. itsjared
I continue to have that problem with my 9800GT 512 MB. Sometimes after about 10 sec it goes away and everything's fine. Sometimes I have to power my monitor on and off. Overall, not a big deal though. at least for me. plprado
yep, I agree, it's not a big deal. I was just wondering if anyone had a good explanation or solution to this, why not try. But, yes, I can live with this. Not going to buy another card only because of this... mozempk
try to set a hot corner for display sleep, when it happens, even if you don't see your cursor, move it in there and when your screen is off move it again it will fix up... (i had same problem and this is the advice given to me) btw you can try even to update you graphics drivers from nVidia's site, if your graphics card is supported and you have your SMbios.plist saying that your pc is a Mac Pro 3.1 or higher it will fix your problem, i solved like this... take a look at this: Frozen screen Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/256400-can-someone-explain-this-to-me/#findComment-1682765 Share on other sites
