I was going to get the 2011 MBP, but it was incredibly expensive, and I really don't have that much to spend on an Apple... So I was looking around to find the same features in a PC laptop and I found it. HP dv6tQE - $1200 with much better specs than $2200 MBP

But my school uses Mac and I don't really like Windows that much, so I found this cool looking forum for hackintoshing and figured I'd give it a try. Has anyone ever made a HakBookPro out of one of these (2011 model!)

Specs-

-2.2GHZ Quad core i7-2720QM w/ 6mb L3 cache (Same as MBP I think)

-1GB GDDR5 Radeon HD 6770M Graphics Card

-6 GB RAM

-640 GB 7200 RPM Hard Drive

-Intel 802.11b/g/n WLAN w/ Bluetooth

So would this be hackintoshable with 100% functionality? The above config is better than the MBP, and is $1000 cheaper. Thanks in advance!

check this:

You have all the info you can need there.

sorry man, know what you are talking about. that doesn't work for sandy bridge with 2nd gen i7's as of now.

the best support we get is with tonymacx86 and ##### with ##### legacy.

still does not fully work either because ati kexts won't work.

however, i have a slightly different model from the original poster's it has no numpad and the screen has multitouch capacitive. yours may work with the new macbook pro's ati kexts (drivers)

head over to tonymacx86.com and do some research man
