Clock, Sound, Bluetooth all missing from Menu Bar, and shutting down doesn't work

Ok, I finally got Leopard installed today, but Im having a couple of problems.

1) Icons (Bluetooth, sound, etc.) and the clock are missing from my menu bar. Upon going to their options in the System Prefs and trying to re-enable them, nothing happens. I tick the box, but nothing shows up.

2) Shutting down/restarting doesnt work. It just sits on the blue screen with the spinny circle thing.

Anyone able to help?

Thanks.

Well, first of all fix the permissions using the disk utility. Also, do you type platform=x86pc at startup or in com.apple.boot.plist? Because this line disables ACPI causing the computer not to shutdown.

sounds like a faulty install. Being a hackintosh user and a huge Apple hater, i don't use macs. I do know that some computers had the shutdown problem and i think i fixed it, i just don't remember. But, I'll bet its a faulty install. Reinstalling Leopard would probably be your best bet.
