BenTM
Ok, I finally got Leopard installed today, but Im having a couple of problems. 1) Icons (Bluetooth, sound, etc.) and the clock are missing from my menu bar. Upon going to their options in the System Prefs and trying to re-enable them, nothing happens. I tick the box, but nothing shows up. 2) Shutting down/restarting doesnt work. It just sits on the blue screen with the spinny circle thing. Anyone able to help? Thanks. BenTM
Ok, for problem number 1, I've found that it's SystemUIServer crashing. Anyone got a fix for this? Dr. Hurt
Well, first of all fix the permissions using the disk utility. Also, do you type platform=x86pc at startup or in com.apple.boot.plist? Because this line disables ACPI causing the computer not to shutdown. BenTM
Permissions verify as fine :s I'll do the com.apple.boot.plist thing now. It goes in the KernelFlags part, yeah? Adrian Fogge
Did you use Andrew Escobar's Frontrow Enabler? BenTM
I had it on Tiger, but it doesnt work on Leopard. I'll try enabling/disbaling and such. BenTM
Tried it, now I get an error box saying SystemUIServer crashed unexpectedly. I click re-open and it crashes again. Franzy
sounds like a faulty install. Being a hackintosh user and a huge Apple hater, i don't use macs. I do know that some computers had the shutdown problem and i think i fixed it, i just don't remember. But, I'll bet its a faulty install. Reinstalling Leopard would probably be your best bet.
