Teh_R3MD0G
ok i finally got the disc (prepatched) of Mac OS X 10.4.6 completed. So i put it in the drive, and boot from it, but it just decides to hang at the beginning screen (with the apple and the loading symbol). idk why it does this, any ideas anyone? my friend used the disc on his computer and it worked fine, my parts work with the Disc, so idk why it hangs at the screen. My System: AMD Anthlon 64 3500+ EVGA NVidia GeForce 7950 GX2 4 GB Dual Channel OCZ RAM 250 GB Harddrive NEC DVD Burner/DVD Player/CDburner Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/25186-help-with-starting-install/ Share on other sites

lion
well lion, i tried waiting, i waited about 1 hour and its still stuck on that darn screen!!! any other ideas? plz! Hi Teh_R3MD0G it's a lot one hour. 1 - the software I did install MacOSX_10.4.6_GoatsecxDVD on my PC. 2 - the hardware A8N-SLI DeLuxe Pro athlon 64 - 3500+ (socket939) Leadtek WinFast PX6600 GT TDH Extreme - 128 Mb DDR3 PCI Express 4 Go Ram Corsair (4 x XMS DDR-SDRAM PC 3200 CMX1024-3200C2) and it works fine, I understood that this software version was better for AMD chips. On your screen the wheel is still turning or it is stopped ? Did you try your dvd on another computer ? Did you burnt it yourself and at the lowest speed ? You may have a problem with the dvd, did you check it for dust ? Are you trying to make the install from the burner or from another dvd reader ? I have a DVD burner and a DVD reader on the same PC, at first I thought that the best was to ask the one who made it to read it... and I had some problems at the time it was opening the installation window, everything was stuck so I did try the dvd reader and it went fast and flawlessly. Try this if you have the possibility. Good luck lion Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/25186-help-with-starting-install/#findComment-170230 Share on other sites

lion
hey lion, umm in order: still spinning yes and yes checked for dust from the burner/reader i dont have another reader, but it should work with this. so any other ideas? lol Hi Teh_R3MD0G, Sorry for the delay, I went to sleep ... You could try to burn another DVD, cause your motherboard, your pro should work without any problem, but is your hdd SATA ? Can you borrow or buy (it's few bucks) another DVD reader ? buy a mac pro ... I"ll end with this as a lot of hackintoshers, since the hackintosh is from far the best free Apple's switcher sucker. Keep trying, good luck lion Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/25186-help-with-starting-install/#findComment-170440 Share on other sites

ѕӎѳѳ₮ңӌ
You dont get a 'no smoking sign' kinda thing do you? When you boot from the disc, press f8 and type -v. You wont get the pretty apple screen but a load of text going down the screen. It will probally stick somewhere thats what you post here and someone like rammjet will be able to help you more.
