Lkr
Will they have one? I think they had one for Tiger but I'm not sure. Thoughts/Opinions/Questions? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/25106-os-x-105-public-beta/ Share on other sites
Jaffa
the only OS X Public-Beta was back in the days of OS X 10.0. Tiger wasnt a public beta, tiger was just snapped up by everyone off torrent sites just like they are leopard at the moment... Adrian Fogge
It would have been kind of hard for Panther, Cougar, or Puma to have been thrown up to torrent sites as they did not yet exist. Back in the day of warez when everything was done through web forums, newsgroups, and irc. It was the time that only the "cool" people could get their hands on stuff... Yep, now every Tom, {censored} and Harry can get in for a peek. HowEver
Perhaps what's circulating now IS the "public beta." We're all Apple's unpaid beta testers. Welcome to the unpaid work force. Right, I look like we are natively enrolled into this new OS Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/25106-os-x-105-public-beta/#findComment-169977 Share on other sites
gikku
should we hit "report" to various crashes, or just ignore? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/25106-os-x-105-public-beta/#findComment-171909 Share on other sites
Joe Dimagio
If you're a developer, then I'd say yes. If you downloaded it from the Internet then probably not. No need to draw attention to yourself, even though it isn't your fault that some moron leaked it to the web. hackand
"Cougar", you mean Cheetah. And, no, I wouldn't say a public beta will ever come out, just maybe one more Dev Preview to show the developers the Top Secret stuff when it's not so secret anymore. Also a lot of beta seeds to beta testers, which, some of them, end up sneaking to the web anyways, so we might get a sort of final but buggy release through BT some day. Still, I don't think it's worth it, I'd just wait for the release.
