Gringo Vermelho
Burn the CD again, at the slowest speed supported by burner and media. Use a CD-RW for boot CDs so you don't have to waste media if you want to change the contents.
XLR
The only solution i found for my occasional EBIOS read errors, is to disconnect the SATA cable from my hard drive and re-connect it again after the DVD starts loading. I know it doesn't make sense and i don't know what my hard drive has to do with this, but it's the only solution that works for me every time, everything else doesn't work. Gringo Vermelho
Sounds like something that could be caused by a cheap or plain broken SATA cable, maybe there's some sort of interference happening or a bad connection? Try another cable to the DVD drive and/or hard drive, hotplugging the HD like that all the time sounds kind of dangerous? I dunno..

Another possibility is me using an IDE DVD drive.
akiNikki
I burned it on DVD and my DVD writer is IDE too. But i got no problem. I just burned them on 4x speed, load it up and everything's working cool.
HappyHackintosh
Trying to run on a computer with an AMD 3800+, get this error while booting from the CD: \ reading ramdisk image: bt(0,0)/Extra/Preboot.dmg mounting: done EBIOS read error: Error 0x01 Block 0x8747 EBIOS read error: Error 0x01 Block 0x8747 EBIOS read error: Error 0x01 Block 0x8747 EBIOS read error: Error 0x01 Block 0x8747 / I too had a problem with read errors. It went away when I replaced my DVD burner with a Sony Optiarc sata burner. Before I had a good burner that worked perfectly with windows but not pefectly enought to install MacOSX from the 10.6.3 retail disk. Even when I was successful installing MacOSX, I got a few read errors before the install began working without further intervention on my part. I was surprised that the DVD burner would make that much difference.
