RETIRED GEEK, Hackintoshing since Snow Leopard was new.
1. CYBERDEVS Again-Thank you for helping me. I think the last post you made clears up my question. I now will not forget that the command I execute create an INSTALLER. Then I boot the installer to create macOS. After I create 10.12.x I add kexts. I will post results so anyone who needs to create maxOS Sierra can see how to do it.
2. Sorry, I do have another question. Where to I indicate the target for those commands to install Sierra etc.? If I have a Disc whose name is "Sierra" What would be the command to install the Sierra version on it?
3. After I execute that terminal command, do I need to do any "touch up" such as set up network, fix USB 3.0? Unless there are features "to die for" I don't plan to try 10.13 Beta[High Sierra] so I should not experience those problems unless they appear for final 10.13 Again thank for your generous offer to help further if needed.
4. Last Booted Volume should work, I'll try it. I think I always used the same volume name. I capitalized in the email to highlight. My funny style of writing. I still would like to know how to specify the volume name to be booted. Maybe I did spell them differently or maybe wrong copy of config.plist. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP
5. WOW, That looks easy. Thanks for the answer. I'll try it.
6. After booting when I get to the Clover screen that displays icons for devices on which there are operating systems plus "EFI" and "Recovery" ICONS. I want "SIERRA" to be the default and system to to SIERRA without any action by me. It is not happening. EFI is the default volume/device. For Example if the Clover Screen shows ICONS for: EFI -----Sierra------ Windows 10---------- Recovery Default seems to be EFI. Even though the BOOT SECTION of config.plist lists default volume is "SIERRA". The EFI icon is highlighted when the Clover screen is displayed. I have to click the SIERRA icon if I want to boot to that drive. NOTE: "UEFI Sierra" is listed as the number one location in my BIOS setup. Also the "-v" for verbose & the "5" second timeout do not work either. Is that an indication that I am making Sierra the default volume in the wrong config.plist, IF I WANT TO CONTROL BEHAVIOR of THE CLOVER SCREEN ? I'm sure the extracts shown here are from Sierra's config.plist. Sierra>EFI>Clover>config.plist Here are 2 extracts from config.plist for SIERRA device -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- key>Boot</key> <dict> <key>Arguments</key> <string>dart=0 -v</string> <key>Debug</key> <true/> <key>DefaultVolume</key> <string>Sierra</string> <key>Legacy</key> <string>PBR</string> <key>Secure</key> <false/> <key>Timeout</key> <integer>5</integer> <key>XMPDetection</key> <false/> ---------------------------------------------------------------- <dict> <key>Hide</key> <array> <string>Windows</string> <string>\EFI\BOOT\BOOTX64.EFI</string> </array> <key>Language</key> <string>en:0</string> <key>Mouse</key> <dict>
7. I see that the set of Hackintosh instructions[ macOS USB installer] that Chris 1111 posted and was maintaining is gone [no link to download]. Is there another set of instructions similar to the scope that Chris previously supported, somewhere in this forum? In case it makes a difference, my hardware is: GA-Z87X-UD5H, Bios Ver 5, i5-4770K, 16GB G Skill 2133 MHz RAM, 500GB Samsung SSD + 1TB HDD Samsung HD103SJ +256GB OCX-Vertex3 SSD [currently this SSD is the host for Win 10 & MacOS10.12.5 in virtual environment] Plan on using the motherboard's build-in video[intel HD Graphics 4600] I want to support both USB 3.0 & 2.0. Display is AURIA 27in. EQ276WN [2560x1440] DVD & Bluray burners Connection to internet now will be via Ethernet (using motherboard built-in which system believes is Intel I217 Gigabit Ethernet Hope for WiFi using Edimax EW-7822UAC[it was supported in earlier versions of OSX]. I also have a Linksys AE2500 WiFi Adapter if that is easier to use. I have Sierra [10.12.5] running under virtual environment [on top of Windows 10] on same motherboard on another SSD.( Of course, I can disconnect the Windows 10 SSD if needed to install & run Sierra) That is my environment to build an installer.

AppleHDA Patcher

Thank you very much. It is wonderfully straightforward. Even we old folks can follow it.
9. FIXED The Lack of Access To Drives whose contents had been assigned "Custom" access has been resolved I executed sudo nvram boot-args="rootless=0” because I guessed that my problem was associated with the new SIP controls. I then could make access changes by executing GET INFO for each folder or file. I then UNLOCKED the drive/folder/file by unchecking the "locked" block. I then was able to assign the value "777" to the object. I then propagated the 777 permissions level to all sub items.. After this I was able to access the previous locked items and read or execute their contents./ So the problem described below is fixed. I have successfully installed El Capitan. Thanks Chris1111 Before the install I disconnected all but one drive. I have reconnected those drives now. Now all the other drives are labeled CUSTOM access. I can't change that to Read-Write and I have no access to anything on those drives. Please suggest an efficient way for me to fix as many as 6 drives with up to 5 folders each. Use of Terminal OK. Note: I tried to search this and could not create a search string that provided my answer.

[GUIDE] 1st Generation Intel HD Graphics QE/CI

Although I haven't built my install of El Capitan using the Insanely Mac guidance, I hope folks here will help me fix my inability to boot directly into my install of El Capitan. FYI: I built 10.11 starting with the 10.6.3 DVD from Apple after I had lost all my software both OSX and Windows. For my GA-Z87X-UD5H 4770K using Intel HD 4600 Video. I installed El Capitan using the OTHER’ site’s INSTALLER TOOL. I had removed my msg r5770 video card hoping to simplify the install. The system recognizes the Intel HD 4600 correctly. Post install I ran Clover_v2.3k_r3270_UEFI.pkg, { This is not the latest but are there any critical changes in the new ones] I also installed FakeSMC.kext,AppleIntelE1000ekext, AtherosE2200Ethernet.kext , RealtekRTL8111.kext. I created A SIMBIOS as a MacBooK Pro 11,2 [Ci7 Haswell] My config.plist includes*: dart=0 boot argument For the USB key Fix Ownership =false For Graphics AppleRTC=true AsusAICPUPM= true Kernel PM =true For the Key “Inject” ATI= False, Intel=True, Nvidia=False I have attached the config.plist Open file with Text edit or your favorite tool toread aq plist file. * I have listed several of the keys [listed in config.plist] and their values here to make it convenient for the reader of this request for help My problems are: I cannot boot into El Capitan w/o using the boot functions of the other site’s installer. (I have attached 2 verbose files from unsuccessful boots directly into El Capitan). When I am able to log into El Capitan, everything seems OK except audio and video acceleration. I don’t think video acceleration is working but I don’t know how to test for that in the Clover environment.. Should I rebuild my SIMBIOS using the Mac 3,1 instead if 11,1? I have seen recommendations on this site that several other kexts be installed when folks had similar problems. One includes adding: AppleIntelInfo [for diagnostic capabilities I think]. I saw a recommendation that the string for device-properties[created using using EFI studio?]. ` How do I add kexts in the Clover environment? Where do I put the device-properties[i guess somewhere in confutation.plist]? What other changes should I make make? Should I use a boot loaded posted here on Insanely Mac to simplify debugging my El Capitan installation? If so where can I download it and get associated documents? Note: I have no reason to continue using boot function of the installer I used to build El Capitan on my PC+ config.plist.zip

GenericUSBXHCI USB 3.0 driver for OS X with source

Confused: I downloaded GenericUSBXHCI_1.1.4 by clicking on Zenith's original posting Binary link. Later in the thread, I saw mention of a perhaps later version called "V1.1a4". Did I get the most recent version of Zenith's USB 3.0 fix? Are there some detail instructions on how to use the kext and when to use the kernal flags[in the #1 post in this thread]. FYI: GA-P55a-USB3 Rev2 i5 650, RAM =OCZ 1333speed 8GB I suspect that there is an anwser to my question somewhere in this long thread. I did not find it because of my limited understanding of Hackintoshs. OSX 10.8.2[ plan to update to 10.8.3]

Black Screen ML. Which Install Procedure to Fix?

Everdone, I'm going to try the procedure you suggested. P.H. I'm not sure what the AGPM does-so I don't know if it is working normally in LION. Remember I can't get to ML. Things that work like monitor going dark after pre-set amount of time do work. Sleep has never worked for me for SL or ML.
13. There are threads that talk about Mountain Lion Black Screen Fixes for nVidia cards, but I have a MSI r5770 video card. I get a black screen the first time I boot into ML. For a fraction of a second I see the gray screen with the wheel then BLACK. I'm willing to install from scratch if there is a path to avoid the black screen problem. I have used the Tonymac86 install approaches thus far. I've tried most start-up options. I think I should go back to a solution that uses Chameleon. Please point me to a setup procedure that has a good chance of avoiding the black screen for my configuration. Or point me to any other posts that may work for my config. GA-P55a-UDL3, intel i5-650, 8GB OCZ 1333 RAM, ATI msi 55770 video, 750 w OCZ PSU, Dell Ultra 23"monitor [might it matter?], USB mouse & keyboard. I have DVD burner and USB drives to use for the install. I can install on a HDD or on my- not very fast OCZ Agility 3 240GB SSD. I have heard that SSD has other ML problems. I am running 10.7.4 successfully. I no longer have access to a Snow Leopard system.
14. NETWORKING RETURNED [mystery why] after a few reboots. NEW PROBLEM Using HEX string from EFI Studio did not fix Absence of Graphics Acceleration I had added hex to Extra/com.Apple.Boot.plist Unclear why a vanilla ASUS nvidia 8400GS 512Mb doesn't have QE/CI Acceleration It's worked perfectly is several intel based Hackintoshes. SUGGESTIONS ANYONE The following has been solved Upgrading to 10.6.8 from 10.6.3 Broke Networking of AMD PC Need help from AMD gurus. HP Pavillion a6230n AMD Athon II x64 5600 with nVidia Geforece 8400 GS 512 MB Video card. nVidi nForce 10/100 Mbps Ethernet, 3GB RAM. USB Keyboard & Mouse The PC has a 400GB HDD. Win 7 installed in one partition, OS X to be installed into another. The HDD was prepared as MBR previously. OS X partition Formatted as Mac OS Extended Journaled. I used above procedure exactly. After 10.6.3 install Network & Sound were OK. I did not check Sleep. No video acceleration but I plan to fix that using string from EFI Studio. After 10.6.8 upgrade NO NETWORKING. The Mac Network diagnostics believes there is no Ethernet Card? I have built 2 Intel Hackintosh PCs and used [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] to fix Network Problems. This is my first experience with an AMD PC. Separately, I have also tried building this PC as 10.6.7 using other procedures that included selecting [Checking during the OS install Customize option]. Legacy Kernel, Apple ATIATA, VoodooHDA and checking the Non-wireless LAN option and using Chameleon 2.1 Installer r1402. Other procedure resulted in same problem Networking OK for 10.6.3 no Networking for 10.6.7. Although the HDD is MBR, I am not guessing that's the problem, because everything was OK for 10.6.3 but not 10.6.7 or 10.6.8 I have [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] to fix network problems on Intel PCs, but hesitate to use them because of big difference in motherboards. Is there a KEXT for my AMD PC?

Hide Partition Fails to Hide NTFS Partition

I have been able to hide the non-bootable partitions using the Hide Partition parameter. I don't know why it works now. Maybe I got the partition ID correct. Thanks for your help. I especially appreciate The how to find what Chameleon thinks the numbering is tip.
