That did the trick now all my USB ports are working, thank you ever so much for all your help mate. Thanks for the tip regarding my sound, I have tried that VoodooHDA patcher before and ended up with a loud popping sound at boot and shut down so I went back to Mistico's P5B deluxe audio patch, I have at least got sound out that way. It seems ADI AD1988A O/B sound cards are hard to get working. One last thing, I have a card reader built in to my PC in which one of the now functioning usb ports resides. This is not seen by my SL any ideas there could I add something to my boot plist for that as well, sorry if this is off topic, if so please disregard.

That did the trick now all my USB ports are working, thank you ever so much for all your help mate. Shutdown just fine.. the weird thing is that sometimes waking up from deep sleep mouse & keyboard (both usb) freeze, and sometimes sleep doesnt work either (rarely). i had no ideas what the hell happened.. but it looks like on appleusbOHCI.. system profiler says that its OHCI detected as expansion while ehci controller is built-in.

 

EHCI/UHCI dsdt fix has solved many problem for proper sleep but i havent seen any dsdt fix for OHCI. So... any thoughts about this sleep problem that survive for ages..

Thanks MaLdOn, This is the dsdt that you created, it has no warnings. Like I said when I remove NullCPU my system slows down, my xbench goes from 213 to 124. I use the Azalia kext and get sound out from the back. The front mic and headphones are not recognized but I use iMic for my inputs. Not a perfect solution but it works. At one time I had found a kext that showed all of my audio inputs and outputs and they worked but I cant figure out if I cant find the right one or something in the 10.6.5 update broke it. Well, got to keep trying. Thanks again for all of your help. Regars CFI

this is not going to happen

Googling around 24/7 still havent found solution to make ATI USB OHCI Controller as Built-In USB

(cant get proper wake up from deep sleep / usb froze *too much power draw bla..bla..bla..* the funniest things is that after going to deep sleep i unplugged/plug all the usb devices but this hackintosh still threw *too much power draw bla..bla..* )

Figured out the problem.

 

CPU EIST Function must be Disabled. If Enabled then no CSTinfo in Ioreg!! Woooot!!

Here is what I have that seems to be important:

 

HPET Enabled

64 bit

On Chip SATA mode (Auto)

CPU Enhanced Halt C1E Enabled

No-Execute memory Protect Enabled

C2/C2E State Support and on some Mobos C4/C4E Enabled

CPU Thermal Monitor 2 (TM2) Enabled

Virtualization Technology Enabled

CPU EIST Function <<<<< Disabled. This is set to enabled by default.

 

 

So I'll play around with the SATA setting to see if that does any fix.

 

 

 

GA-EP45-UD3P SATA setting question:

 

SATA Port0-3 Native Mode <<< Should this be Enabled or Disabled? Disabled by default. That one consistently throws me for a loop.

Yes that took care of it to. So its not the CPU EIST Function that causing the problem its actually the C2/C2E. I tested it after I chose Optimized and enabled C2/C2E and CSTinfo in not displayed in the IOreg. So this is the one causing the issue.

 

I imagine C4/C4E may also cause an issue. Funny thing I have these all enabled in my Asus Rampage using the same Award Bios with no issues what so ever. CSTinfo is in the Ioreg.

I only work with Gigabyte

perfect

ICH7 does not need to fix

only the EHCI

already applied

things are simple

this mobo is very compatible

Maybe its something to do with the graphics card GalaxyNvidia 8400GS with 1024 Turbo(System Memory Shared or 512MB Dedicated which is what shows up in System Profiler.

 

I'll try a different card to see.
