RAM is definetely LOW. Go with at least 1GB if you wanna enjoy it as if it was a REAL Mac. I would go for a Pentium D instead of Celeron (Celeron is Intel's lower end Pentium...) What mobo are you going with? Besides that, seems pretty decent. Good luck.:thumbsdown_anim:

Celeron D is simply a Pentium D with partially bad L2 cache (they can't always guarantee perfect silicon wafer etching). Thus they disable half of the L2 cache and sells them as Celeron D. Nothing else is different. If anything, buying a Celeron can be a good deal for one's wallet. Since I only do programming, Celeron D is a good deal.

O yes i forgot to add that on the list i will edit that and yes im getting an ati video card witch will soon be on the list to.... i was also wonder witch video capture dvr card is the best for x86.

I guess signatures ain't {censored} anymore huh? LOL. Cool sign... Keep it {censored}... LOL :tomato::tomato:

Thank you i agree.

Yeah i just said that because i was in a hurry and didnt have time to make one... your sig was my inseration.

Um. No, Celeron D's aren't de-cached Pentium D's. Pentium D's are dual-core, whereas Celeron D's are not. They are based off the Prescott cores, and that's about where the similarities end.

Hmm. Perhaps I was thinking about the Pentium M and Celeron M... then let me update... Celeron D is the de-cored Pentium D.

ok... total newb here.. thought I would ask in this thread rather than create a new one.

I'm really wanting to put OSX on my dell m-90. Anyone tried this yet?

core duo processor (dual core, 2gHz)

2 g sdram

80 gig hd

nvidia qfx2500 512mb grfx card.

Am I in for a lot of headaches, or should I be OK?

Thanks.

:hysterical:

I installed fine on my m90, but my laptop has the Intel 3945 wireless card so that doesn't work (no drivers for it yet). However my wired ethernet port works fine. If you must have OSx on your m90, I'd say go for it, but if you can wait, I'd wait until development of IPW2200 and IPW3945 drivers are done...which might take awhile....see this thread for more information: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...17899&st=80

I'm not sure if osx86 supports the other wireless cards that are included with Dell m90s, maybe someone else can answer that.

ok.... but it wont connect... maybe its a bad torrent, can some one send me a good download link, wiith a healthy working torrent.

Just go to the demon site an search for Mac OS X 10.4.6 JaS Install DVD first, and then Jas 10.4.6 to 10.4.7 Update x86, which is the patch. The patch is applied right after you finish installing the OS, from within OS X. Let me know if you need any help. It's the least I can do since everyone on this place has always helped me unconditionally.

Ok so im setting up everything is connectected... but there is a broblem, when i hook up the atx power supply, everything on the mother board gets hot no fans turn on nothing happens except the board gets realy hot, thats just when the power supply is in, when i push the power button (whitch is connected correctly) nothing... so i unconnect the atx power cord fast before it over heats...

Help a noob.. :)
