madwh
I couldn't really find anywhere the one you mentioned, what exactly is a pain in the butt about the external one? Also you said something about warranty, would I lose my warranty if I did it your way? I only got the laptop yesterday... edit: like drjman I had to use nawcom boot cd instead of empire efi, now installing snow leopard retail. You might want to add nawcom boot cd to the tutorial. edit: made lots of progress with help from nawcom, os x installed just fine from the retail dual layer dvd but after it was done I couldn't boot into it. I had to boot into with the nawcom cd and single user and then I had to type all this to deleted voodoohda: sh /usr/local/bin/voodoohda-uninstall then: fixkext then: reboot I'm now in snow leopard (booted with nawcom cd) and thinking about starting to do all the nasty DSDT stuff and all I have to do, to boot normally without cd. edit: I did the DSDT and all that and now preparing to update to 10.6.4, gravicle, the link for AsereBLN Booter is kinda broken, here's a good link: http://www.kexts.com/view/266-aserebln_booter.html edit: I installed 10.6.4 and then AsereBLN following your instructions exactly and then restarted and now I can only boot with the nawcom cd back into snow leopard, please help...this is what I get and just sits there: I can boot just fine with the nawcom cd and it's on 10.6.4 but I still don't have the video card installed properly either. (low res, no qe, etc) edit: I updated to 10.6.5 and before restarting I used the ##### from tonymac (http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2010/04/#####-#####-install-mac-os-x-on.html) with UserDSDT option and DSDT.aml on my desktop and things started to just work!! I even have wifi working, full hd res, battery percentage. I installed the voodoo hda from you and couldn't boot but I booted with nawcom's cd (it let me) and then without cd and -f and it's started to boot again normally without anything and I have sound working. >>>LAST EDIT<<<: So right now I have everything working except sleep (doesn't work for some reason). Also no 64 bit kernel and extensions but these are not big issues (hope to fix them soon and please help if you have any ideas), I can pretty much say I have a fully working hackintosh. sublast edit: I had a fat32 partition reserved for windows, I installed windows 7 on it, formated that partition to ntfs during setup, everything went smoothly and then I booted back into os x with the nawcom cd to set os x parition active so I can boot into os x too (following this tutorial step 5 http://lifehacker.com/5698205/how-to-tripl...dows-and-linux) and now I can boot into os x normally just like before installing windows and chameleon recognizes the windows partition but if I try to boot into it I get this: http://i.imgur.com/2Oc9J.jpg The windows setup dvd has zero effect on anything, doesn't fix anything, doesn't even recognize the windows install (all I did in windows was install an antivirus). subsublast edit: I went the easybcd route, installed easybcd in windows and added os x (mbr) and everything is beautiful. last edit: (for real now) I created a thread for my laptop specifically http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...=0#entry1612245
tuckNroll
Gravicle, Spent hours reading through these forums and turned google upside down looking for a good thread specific to my machine but it seems I am the only one with this laptop, or at least the only one trying to put mac on it. I noticed the machine in your tutorial is similar to mine and decided to give it a go. I'm using NawComBootCD which worked on the first shot. I am also using a 10.6.3 OEM Mac CD, which I am borrowing from my local 15inch MacBookPro User. I'm guessing this is the culprit to the following problem... MacInstaller loads fine and even gives me a native looking resolution, and my battery status. Once I select my language, I get the "MacOSX cannot be installed on this computer" MessageBox. I select Restore from backup just for kicks, this allows me to access DiskUtility, Terminal, SystemProfiler ect... I look into DiskUtility and my HardDisk is present and formatted with MacOSExtendedJournaled, GUID Partition Table, ect... notice the connection type is considered an external when it is in-fact internal. I have no idea where to go from here. I'm hoping you don't mind helping out a noob. I'm not really a noob, I've installed a distro of Kalaway before on my HP DV6k, but everyone and their poodle had that computer, very easy to find forums on it. Here are a few more pics that might prove themselves to be useful: Sorry but my Driod is my only means of taking pics. by the way my BIOS is the latest version for this model; 207 Thanks in advanced! oSxFr33k
Do you have VoodooHDA 2.7.2 with Pref Pane 11 working in OSX 10.6.6? For some odd reason my Audio stopped working? VoodooHDA 2.6.2 works fine but with a prior release of PrefPane as it does not work with PrefPane verson 11.

Upgrading to 10.6.6 changed absolutely nothing on my rig, and definitely did not break any kext. You may want to boot with -f flag for once, probably reapir the permissions a couple of times. It may be just the kext not loading on boot. Use kextspy to find out if its loaded. You may consider reinstalling the kext. Now, the VoodooHDA project has an official installer on the project page. Check it out here. Keep us posted.
Akujin
Got 10.6.7 running with this laptop. Still working out stability issues. Recently been panicking about 5-10 minutes into vmware fusion / flash.
