Sugarat
From looking at the HCL it seems like a fair few ATI X1600 cards seem to work with both CI and QE. Would I be best buying one of these cards? I would dearly like to have the graphics working properly on my MacOS installation, and although I don't really have much money at the moment, I'm tempted to go and buy a card, as long as I can be sure that it will work properly. Which one do you think I should get ? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/22900-so-what-graphics-card-should-i-get/ Share on other sites
oiasdas
If you are a gamer at all, I would suggest not buying a card solely because it works with OS X. The 1600 will be poor at modern games. If you only use OS X and do not game, than for around a hundred you can get a x1600 and be happy. vbetts
Whatever you do, DON'T GET THE X1600.If you're running on AGP, then grab the X800GTO http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814102002 The X800 is way better than the X1600 performance wise. But, the X1600 only has 2 things over it. Vivo, and shader support. That's all, but the X800 will perform better. Sugarat
Okay cool. I do boot into Windows to play a game now and then, so I'd best go for the X800 then by the looks of things! Thanks for your advice guys Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/22900-so-what-graphics-card-should-i-get/#findComment-151824 Share on other sites
