So what graphics card /should/ I get?

From looking at the HCL it seems like a fair few ATI X1600 cards seem to work with both CI and QE.

Would I be best buying one of these cards? I would dearly like to have the graphics working properly on my MacOS installation, and although I don't really have much money at the moment, I'm tempted to go and buy a card, as long as I can be sure that it will work properly.

Which one do you think I should get ?

If you are a gamer at all, I would suggest not buying a card solely because it works with OS X. The 1600 will be poor at modern games. If you only use OS X and do not game, than for around a hundred you can get a x1600 and be happy.

Whatever you do, DON'T GET THE X1600.If you're running on AGP, then grab the X800GTO

The X800 is way better than the X1600 performance wise. But, the X1600 only has 2 things over it. Vivo, and shader support. That's all, but the X800 will perform better.

Will it work with the X1600 drivers or you need to install the drivers manually?
