ph33r213
Hello, I've been following the directions from this guide, and when it comes time to install it, I get up to the point where it asks me to where to install it, and theres nothing in the box. What did I do wrong? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/22889-no-drive-to-install-to/ Share on other sites

ph33r213
Yes, it doesn't matter to me, as this isn't my main computer. Can I format it through the terminal in the installer? nylock10
When you get to the part where there is no drive listed, do this: Utilities Menu > Disc Utility > Click the drive you want > Erase to Mac OS Journal (or similar I'm doing this by memory). Then after it is done, close Disc Utility and try to install. When you get to the part where there is no drive listed, do this: Utilities Menu > Disc Utility > Click the drive you want > Erase to Mac OS Journal (or similar I'm doing this by memory). ph33r213
It says this when trying to erase it : Could not write partiton map. Ok, I got it to erase, now when I try to partition, it says Input/Output error, or something like that. Edit: I got it to be HFS+, but when I try to mount it, it says it can't because of an error. When I try repairing it, it says the same. Is my harddrive broken?
