junglemonkey007
Hey all, just wanted to give a little feedback to the community that helped me save a bunch of money (Like Geico!). So here's my info: Intel Core i7 860 Processor 2.80 GHz 8 MB LGA1156 CPU I7-860BOX http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Core-Processor...id=R23K6AT5VL04 Corsair CMD4GX3M2A1600C8 Dominator 4 GB (2 x 2 GB) PC3-12800 1600MHz 240-Pin DDR3 Core i7 and Core i5 Memory Kit http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-CMD4GX3M2A16...id=R23K6AT5VL04 EVGA nVidia GeForce GTX260 Core 216-55nm Superclocked 896 MB DDR3 2DVI PCI-Express Video Card 896-P3-1257-AR http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-216-55nm-Superc...id=R23K6AT5VL04 Corsair CMPSU-750TX 750-Watt TX Series 80 Plus Certified Power Supply compatible with Intel Core i7 and Core i5 http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-CMPSU-750TX-...id=R23K6AT5VL04 Thermaltake VJ400G1N2Z V9 Black Edition Mid Tower Marvelous Gaming Case with 23cm Silent Fan http://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-VJ400G1N...id=R23K6AT5VL04 Thermaltake Silent 1156 CPU Cooler http://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-Silent-1...id=R23K6AT5VL04 Full Amazon Wishlist: http://amzn.com/w/R23K6AT5VL04 I had not used my Amazon Prime trial membership until now, using it I got all parts from amazon within 2 days. I live in Southern Cali Board I got from NewEgg GIGABYTE GA-P55-USB3 LGA 1156 Intel P55 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...8-425-_-Product I used this guide and ##### nVidia with "#####" toggled. At first I tried with the custom DSDT file, but that didn't work so hot: http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2010/04/ibo...ac-os-x-on.html I used a spare 250gb Hard drive I had laying around, and a spare DVD-Rom drive (which I have since removed) I have had zero issues so far, and now I just need to figure out how to dual boot with OSX as primary (I wish Bootcamp worked, honestly). This is just my helpful contribution.

mdnz01
total overkill for the power, 400w corsair should do the same job One of the magnificent things about PCs is that you can upgrade them. 400w would be a very bare minimum for this system. Mike Miller
Oddly enough, I couldn't get my GTX260 to display anything other than 1024x768, I installed my older 9800 GTX+ and it appears to work fine...that and an Apple USB/Ethernet adapter where the only real hiccups in getting my Alienware Aurora to run Snow Leopard, which it's doing excessively well. At about a fourth the cost of the equivalent MacPro.
Braddman
junglemonkey007, thank u for this. really tempting to my knowledge no mac has one yet I just bought the Lacie D2 BluRay for my company. It comes with MAC software, so I'm assuming it is compatible. It was about $380 bucks.
