vlad1966
Need help getting Snow Leopard installed on my new Hack Setup. Asus P6X58D-E (not Premium) mobo. i7-930CPU 12GB G.sKill RAM I got rid of my Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R since there were too many issues, and didn't expect to have so many problems getting Leo installed on this Asus mobo. I've tried -v -x cpus=1 busratio=21, but no go. I keep getting a KP something about ACPI. Please help. I've tried the USB install which worked great on the Gigabyte & also tonymac's ##### Supported, but still getting this damn ACPI kernel panic. vlad1966
No matter what I try, I keep getting this: SerialATAPI device reconfiguration did not complete successfully (failedCommandInfo = 0x1) I get that on 2 lines, then the same line again, just with (0x2) at the end. Then: still waiting for root device Then 2more lines of: SerialATAPI device reconfiguration did not complete successfully (failedCommandInfo = 0x1) Then: SerialATAPI terminating due to unrecoverable Reset error - drive has stopped responding. (resetType = 0x0, newPowerState = ox1, failedCommandInfo = 0x1) Then it just keeps repeating: still waiting for root device My HDD is connected to the Inter ICH10R SATA port in AHCI mode. HELP!!!! orlfman
Did you read the thread I linked? I don't mean to bring back an old thread, but I to have a P6X58D-E and I am getting the same issue. I checked out the link you posted, but that is for the premium.. Will what you posted there also work with E? Is all that is required is boot123 to boot the installer? Specs: Asus P6X58D-E Intel Core i7 980X 6gb Kingston HyperX DDR3 1600 Nvidia 470 Asus Xonar DX (willing to use onboard) Sata 6 640gb harddrive From what I got from that thread you linked is that everything should work perfectly fine. Only issue I can see is my video card, but I noticed that there are working drivers for 10.6.4. So a straight vanilla install should work? Boot with boot123, install, get to desktop, install chameleon bootloader, reboot, do system update, reboot and install audio/video drivers? No need to install chipset drivers for the motherboard? iELLMO
lol. sorry bout that. Im going to ask a noob question. from what i gathered from reading this thread. To install on the asus p6x58d-e i need to set the hdd settings to ahci . I need to burn boot123 to a cd and boot to it. I need to insert a retail mac os x dvd into the pc after the bootloader finishes and press f5. and continue with a normal install? Sorry if this has been repeated a million times. will this effect my win 7 install? changing the ahci setting. Do I need to take the hdds out of the sata 3 slots
kup
Yes, you do. Read the guide linked above, it details everything, click for click. Setting AHCI will possibly render your Windows 7 unbootable but there is an easy fix. http://www.ithinkdiff.com/how-to-enable-ah...r-installation/
