cyberderf
I mean it's ok, i found images/text to be sharp enought, but not as it is in Windows. Problem seems more apparent with text than images. Changing font smoothing parameters wont help. I have even tried to do it in terminal and forcing to the less smoothing level. I am lucky my 8600 GTS is currently recognized OTB with QE/CI all resolutions, dual DVI out in Snow Leopard without any kext. My monitors are both Dell. They are models 2007WFP and S2309W at 1680 x 1050 @ 60 Hz and 1920 x 1080 @ 60 Hz. I've tried adding NVEnabler in extra folder and it wont help. I didn't tried EFI Studio or NVinject because I doubt it could change anything. Driver/card problem, or problem with OSX? However, even without DSDT patching, you need to do some modifications. Well, it seems like even though your card is recognized OOTB, you need to add the Vendor and Device into the Info.plist files of NVDANV50Hal.kext and NVDAResman.kext. Your hardware is currently working as a compatibility mode device without native binaries able to tap its full potential. Do the needful and let us know. cyberderf
@mschilling Same thing one or two I think. I see you installed NV Enabler. Why ? Any difference on the sharpness with or without ? @Freaky Chokra Vendor and Device id.. If I remember best way for getting them is I suppose trying with EFI Studio ? Any difference if I add it to the com.apple.Boot.plist of the chameleon partition instead of the 2 files you are talking about ? For what it'll be useful to me? cyp75
If it's what I think it is (problem unrelated to font smoothing), I had the same problem with my nVidia 7950gt then my ATI HD 4850. The image is slightly blured, it's very subtle, but very annoying. It appeared to be related to the fact that I had specified my resolution in com.apple.boot.plist. If it's the same thing, remove this info, reboot, you'll have a weird boot screen, but (at last) a normal user experience. Hope it's the same problem and that it helps (also try to modify the resolution, or unplug/plug your screen) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/216931-ive-got-a-blur-image-slightly-with-8600-gts/#findComment-1472249 Share on other sites
