  1. I have an Asus p8p67 Pro, I have tried GenericUSBXHCI.kext, usb 3.0 is working fine but I have an issue with sleep. It goes to sleep and 1 sec after that it wakes up I have checked wake reasons, it is confirmed that it's usb 3 (when I remove kext it goes to sleep well). I've also tried method with AppleUSBXHCI.kext editing, usb 3 is here in system profiler but my external HDD isn't detected. Anyone ?
  2. Hi And, I'm at home ! I have a modified bios as well and you have nothing to worry about with Windows, it does not affect it in any way. I think you can go up to 10.8.5 without trouble, however I have stopped at 10.8.2 because it is a production machine and I have had no time to test any further upgrade. I have tried 10.9 mavericks and it ran, so 10.8.5 will certainly be ok.
  3. Thanks Andy, the package works great with the GM. As pointed out, sound from the last version of the beast is perfectly working. EDIT : iMessages isn't working (says it can't be activated) EDIT 2 : Restart is sometimes a little borken. It hangs on a spinning wheel on grey background. As for now, it happened only when I installed apps. Something to be investigated.
  4. Has anyone installed the new 10.8.4 update ? Any sound or other issues ?
  5. I have the exact same problem. In the console, it looks like a file is missing (com.apple.pkg.SIUResources), someone posted the error here : http://www.insanelym...howtopic=280467 However, when I placed the file from the DP4, the installer gave me an error when the installation began. I haven't had time to look what it was. For the very long boot time of the installer, I opened the Preboot.dmg, unpacked Extensions.mkext and removed the lan and bluetooth drivers, and it is really quick now.
  6. I have already tried some (3 or 4 different), funny things happened with my HDMI display, but no luck so far When I have some spare time, i'll try all of them !
  7. Supported Graphics cards with Full QE/QI

Sapphire HD5850 Xtreme 1Go - 1xDVI 1xHDMI 1xDP GOOD : Working smoothly OOB BAD : recognized only as Radeon 5000 Series and DVD Player, Geekbench etc. crash. With Graphics Enabler = Yes, DVI works, but HDMI Display is wrong (model not longer detected, wrong resolution, wrong colors). As ^Andy^ suggested, i'll try with different framebuffers (already tried some, but it didn't solve the problem).
  8. Hi Andy, Thank you very much for your work. Everything is going well so far, had to rollback HDA to get sound and that's it. However, I have a Sapphire HD5850 Xtreme card with 1xDVI 1xHDMI 1xDP, my main display is plugged in DVI port, my second is connected to HDMI port. I had nothing to do at all, QE/CI working OOB BUT it displays ATI Radeon HD 5000 1024Mb and DVD Player crashes. I naturally tried with Graphics Enabler on, no crash, right display in System Profiler BUT my HDMI monitor is recognized as VGA Monitor (instead of Syncmaster) and has improper resolution choices as well as blueish colors, and becomes unusable. For now I'll stick to GE=No, but it'll be great to have a fully working system ! Any thoughts ? Thanks !
  9. Thank you very much ! It does make sense now... I hope our experts in the DSDT thread will do the magic with speedstep and turbo mode, and it will be a perfect hack ! EDIT : tested with macpro 3,1, problem solved !
  10. Still that awful reactivation sound after a while without any sound. It's getting pretty annoying. I wonder what I should do to fix this. EDIT : I have read that some people have had this problem as well. Have you managed to fix it ? Thanks !
  11. Thanks ^Andy^ for your package ! Everything is fine, the only major issue is that awful clicking sound after a while. I can't find it, but someone told that it's like the sound goes to sleep. That makes sense as this sound is very familiar to me, it's the same sound as every time the sound is activated (same sound on boot on my previous mobo). Does everybody have the same problem ? Any way to fix this ? Thanks !
  12. DSDT for Asus P8P67-M PRO

Just a quick question as I will buy a sandy bridge system in the next couple of days. It seems to me you implied that Gigabyte boards are easier to work with and more compatible with OsX and generating good DSDT tables. Is that true ? I have read it all, but it gets pretty technical in the end. What is working and what is to be done at this point ? Thanks !
  13. I am running 10.6.5 without any glitch, see here (in french, but a little google translate should do the trick), all files that you ever dreamed of, and a great tutorial by aliab: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=182790
  14. ASUS P5W DH Deluxe

Merci beaucoup Aliab, une fois de plus tout fonctionne à merveille !
  15. If it's what I think it is (problem unrelated to font smoothing), I had the same problem with my nVidia 7950gt then my ATI HD 4850. The image is slightly blured, it's very subtle, but very annoying. It appeared to be related to the fact that I had specified my resolution in com.apple.boot.plist. If it's the same thing, remove this info, reboot, you'll have a weird boot screen, but (at last) a normal user experience. Hope it's the same problem and that it helps (also try to modify the resolution, or unplug/plug your screen)
