thechung
Hi, i have been searching the forums but cannot solve my problem. I installed with tiger-x86.tar.bz2 unpatched the sse2 to get sse3 and deleted the thing that ate up cpu usage and changed the vendor id numbers to my 915g chipset. (appleintel915.kext or something) Everything works, i have sound, itunes, installed office 2004, some adobe programs etc (every ppc app i tried works). BUT the movies in quicktime is really choppy and slow. I think this is because QE is not working. In about this mac, it says i don't have QE. What have i done wrong, is there another patch i have to do? I heard somewhere that the tiger-x86.tar.bz2 doesn't have QE enabled by default or something, so should i go download another version, if so which one is better? Somebody please help me, if i get QE, my macintel will be 100% working!!! thanks in advance. My specs: P4 prescott 3.0ghz asus p5gdc-v deluxe mobo (915g chipset with onboard lan, audio etc) 512 ddr2 ram Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/2157-90-success-goddam-it-no-qe/ Share on other sites

DeathChill
Because you're supposed to install DIRECTLY via the DVD. Using a predone image is NOT a good idea as it was made for a specific computer (VMware) and doesn't work so nice with a normal computer. cyrana
Yeah the DVD is the best way. Although deadmoo's image works out of the box (in terms of 915G support) for most people once you put the original CoreGraphics file back in. Perhaps you don't have the original CoreGraphics file, either. stryder
You shouldn't be downloading any software! You should be using the Apple OS X x86 Install DVD that came with your Developer Kit machine! Otherwise, it's illegal.
