Beymen Bussines
Hey Guys, i'm doing the 10.6.2 DVD install. Partition 1: Windows 7 Partition 2: Windows XP Partition 3: Leopard 10.5.7 Partition 4: Snow Leopard (( install )) at the moment i copied the 10.6.2 DVD to my usb-disk and i'm trying to make an install usb. I want to run it from osinstall.mpkg I want the osinstall.mpkg but couldn't find it. i tried the myhackinstaller but it gives me a panic because of the old kexts. I have a working 10.5.7 should i use the dsdt from it?? Can i use the smbios from 10.5.7 ? is anyone familiar with the 10.6.2 install dvd ? Hangten
osinstall.mpkg is hidden and in the Systems folder in your SL disc or image use Show All Files found here; http://www.kexts.com/view/196-show_all_files.html Install with "Customize" and uncheck "Printer Support, Language Translations" they aren't needed. Printer will install fine without Printer Support so don't worry about it. Yes your DSDT & smbios.plist still work. Last move over compatible kext and make sure your running all 32/64 compatible or get them from http://wwwkexts.com . Some app's don't like to run in 64bit so you might want to boot in 32bit You may or may not want to add an additional Chameleon install on this patrician but you seem to already have that but remember that there are versions of Chameleon that are older and do not support SL. You still need to add the boot file to the root of your SL install. In your com.apple.boot.plist you may want to boot with -v -x then use the kext Utility: http://www.kexts.com/view/129-kext_utility...d_(update).html to reset permissions rebuild mkext if you added kext's in the System/Library/Extensions. Obviously once you do that and want it to boot normally remove the -v -x. Beymen Bussines
@ice - Download Chameleon RC2... then you'll get a dual boot... First make yourself a working 10.5 so you can easily install the 10.6... from 10.5 you can install chameleon. I already have a dualboot on Partition1 Windows 7 Partition2 Windows XP Partition3 Mac 10.5.7 Partition4 and now i'm working on the Mac 10.6.2 Thanks for the reply, I'll just copy my old smbios & dsdt.aml gonna start the installation from a modded osinstall.mpkg... Got Chameleon RC2... hope that it will work Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/214925-installation-mac-snow-leopard-1062/#findComment-1443609 Share on other sites
1c3
@Beymen You meant to say I must have to install 10.5 first and then upgrade to 10.6? Beymen Bussines
yeah mine works like this at the moment partition 1: Windows Partition 2: windows2 partition 3: hfs+ (make it at least 40GB) partition 4: hfs+ (make it at least 10GB) Get yourself a USB-disk that is at least 8 GB Download IDeneb 10.5.7 install it into partition 4. Then get/download the image/dvd of Snow Leopard copy it to your USB-Disk. Then google for OsInstall.mpkg (modded) (myhack has one ) copy this to your usb-disk/system overwrite the old one/replace it. Then run the osinstall.mpkg and install it on partition 3. and after installation copy your dsdt.aml to your partition 3 root. Download Chameleon RC4 and install i Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/214925-installation-mac-snow-leopard-1062/#findComment-1444833 Share on other sites

TreatLightly
Hey all, Apologies if this is slightly off-topic - but I've done something daft and I'd appreciate some advice on WHAT TO DO WHEN EVERYTHING TURNS TO HELL while trying to create a dual - boot Win7/OSX 10.6 system. I've created a machine that is only capable of telling me "Operating system missing" and that does not recognise the OSX install disc. Please point me in the right direction, noble forum gods. pc2mac_convert
@FalleNk810i Did you mess with the bootloader when you did the 10.6 install? You may end up having to use the Windows Installation disk to do a fix boot for the NTFS Drive...
