Wuzzie
Ok, I'm almost ready to install OSx86 on my machine. I have a working (I hope so... It works in VMware) JaS 10.4.6 DVD, and Acronis OS SElector, which is activated right now. I am just worried, that when I Install OS X, it will boot before Acronis OS Selector and I will ahve no way to get to windows... And if it boots to windows it will not have OS X set up to boot yet... then I have to hope it will just detect it in the wizard.... So these are my questions: After I install OS X, will it try to boot first? How can I make Acronis OS Selector boot first? In Acronis OS Selector, is it as simple as going through the OS detecting wizard and it will find it? If there are any guides on using Acronis OS Selector taht would be awsome. Thanks! EDIT: I just made the Acronis Bootable CD recovery thingy... Can I just use this once OS X is installed? cbmkgd
Whenever another OS writes to the mbr and takes over AcronisOSS, you can reactivate AOSS with the Acronis Boot CD. I see you made that Acronis Boot Cd, which is a very good think to do. I also recommand you do not have AOSS activated when installing OSX: you can deactivate AOSS from its menu. Let OSX install, then reboot in OSX to finish the process. Then, after you are satisfied with your OSX system, reboot with the Acronis Boot CD to reactivate AOSS: after another reboot, AOSS will detect your new OS and put it in the menu. From AOSS menu, you can make OSX as the default OS. There is a manual that comes with the product that is helpfull. And if you want a nice osx icon in aoss, check Method 0 of this post (it will depend on which version of aoss you got) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/21401-using-acronis-os-selector-for-osx86/#findComment-141198 Share on other sites
adurbe
not quite on topic but, In my 'wisdom' i lowered the timer time to 1 sec assuming i need only mash the keyborad to change os. Turns out this is not the case As such I am locked under osx, is there a key command that halts the countdown (I cant find it in any doc) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/21401-using-acronis-os-selector-for-osx86/#findComment-141208 Share on other sites
