kamikaze2112
Hi all. I've been running this release now for almost 2 weeks, and I can't seem to get the OS to restart. It sleeps and shuts down fine, but on a restart it just stops at a blue screen with the little spinner at the bottom. If i power it off with the switch, and power it back on, it's fine, but still won't restart. Any ideas? I have the same issue before and after patching 10.4.7, but my power button is in foot range, so it is low priority for me. kamikaze2112
so the 10.4.7 update won't fix this? There goes that idea Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/21344-jas-1046-install-wont-restart/#findComment-140811 Share on other sites
belgrano
The problem lies with the kernel of OS X. Updating to 10.4.7 would not correct the restart issue since we use the kernel from 10.4.4. The idea is to edit your mach_kernel with a hex editor. The solution is in that forum but I'm tired of searching and posting the link for the 1000th time. Use the search button yourself. (You'll find it even in the wiki!) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/21344-jas-1046-install-wont-restart/#findComment-140853 Share on other sites
Deviant0ne
It's really easy to find. It's also really easy to do, it's just one little line of hex code you need to replace. Check my sig for the link to the thread. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/21344-jas-1046-install-wont-restart/#findComment-140861 Share on other sites
