Hi. Could I leave the iMac i7 for 24 hours for more than a month (with sleep) supposing you're reading something and practicing, so that studying would be smooth and you don't have to find the last page you were in or ask yourself where you left off? In short can it be handled like a server but with sleep so the components don't wear out that fast? Thanks in advance.

I have left my base 27" iMac on 24/7 since I got it in mid December 2009. I have only rebooted it for updates. I just let it sleep when I am not using it. Have not had any problems with it what so ever.

According to Scott Mueller's Upgrading and repairing PC's 3rd Edition, the damage if any done to computers is caused by the expansion and contraction of the computer parts asthey are heated and cooled (by turning it on and off).

I haven't had issues with leaving my computers on, I have a CRT iMac (Graphite) that I used as my server. I left it on for months on end with no problem. Note that the iMac has no internal fan.
