papa_6 Posted August 28, 2006 Share Posted August 28, 2006 Now I have messed up my GMA900 drivers too. I tried to reinstall the GMA driver package that worked before, but no QE and CI. I have the EAX1600 connected, but the mainboard is set to chose the integrated graphics until I get the 1600 to work. The Borisbadenov installer shouldn't have messed with the gma900 driver, or did it? Is it the 10.4.5 drivers that work best with borisbadenov? I am stuck on this card too. We have to work out the followings: 1. OSX Revision and which patch items to check before installation. 2. ASUS EAX 1600XT H/W and VBIOS Revision. 3. To get ATI related kexts from someone whose OSX works well with this card. papa_6 Posted August 29, 2006 Share Posted August 29, 2006 Do you have the right side one (in the first posts pics) that has id 0x71c0? Could You tell me where I can find the 10.4.5 kexts? The ATI kext wasn't included in the apple 10.4.5 combo update package. Can you also tell me how the card was working with the newer kexts? Mine is booting normally, but at login and desktop the screen is going black with mouse visible and some red and yellow fields. This problem seems to happen to cards with id 0x71c0 and the sapphire flash fix mentioned on this forum didn't work for me... My card work with QE/CI on 1280x1024 with out any modification, but i can't calibrate my display. Then, I got the Driver Free image for BIOS flashing from bootdisk.com (http://motherboards.mbarron.net/download/drdflash.exe ) and made me a floppy with these things on it. I have two displays LCD (DVI) and CRT (VGA) they working on mirroring (on instalation too). When i change atindrv.kext only DVI with adapter working. VGA is black, DVI without adapter too. tha_toadman Posted September 5, 2006 Share Posted September 5, 2006 well guys, i'm hear to say that the only way i can make my card work is with JaS 10.4.6 install disc using my method on my 2nd gen. card. i have tried the myzar 10.4.4 (+ .5) install with boris's method, my method...and nothing worked. just nasty artifacts all over the screen to the point where it was unusable. it's not listed as a 'ati radeon' at all - just says 'VGA Compatible' but it does have DVI, sleep, rotation, CI/QE...and i can run 1600x1200@60 on my samsung flat panel. the card i have is the one on the right (black heatsink). i'll post my bios version here in awhile. Use Pacifist to view the .pkg file inside the .dmg from Apple, follow the path to System -> Library -> Extensions, click on the kext you want and hit Extract How to replace 10.4.6 kexts with 10.4.5 kexts? Some ATIx1000xxx.bundle could not be replaced. When you drag the kext to the Extensions folder, you will get 2 dialogs: The first will essentially say "You can't do that". Just click the Authenticate button and give your password. The second will ask if you want to replace the existing kext. Answer "yes". Perhaps a simpler way is in Pacifist, click the Install button rather than the Extract button. Hi everyone!
