kernalzero
that's f*%ked up!!! It's didn't even melt at the connection for the magsafe, that looks like it's in the cable. I hope they resolve these magsafe issues or just drop it when the next version of the macbooks come out! Atomsk
They are overnighting me a new one so that is good. I also told them I want assurance that this will never happen to me again after all what would have happened if I had not been using it at the time it when it melted. kevin_4e
I bought my first mac not too long ago and i'm very happy with it in every aspect. What i didn't know is that not only is it a great computer but, if you attach the magsafe and put a frying pan on it, it is fully capable of cooking me a few eggs. God almighty does mine get hot. After seeing this, i know i wont be leaving this plugged in when i'm not home. You're lucky that nothing else happened. It could have been a lot worse and caused a lot more dammage. If anyone knows if they're shipping new, more reliable magsafes, keep us posted. Colonel
OMG! I hope that doesn't happen to my Macbook's magsafe. That's scary. Oh, and I can't stand the whine and moo. It's driving me insane. Atomsk
I was kind of dissapointed in the support for apple although I they are overnighting me a new one I asked the support specialist if they are working on fixing this issue or have fixed this issue so this will not happen again and I never got a real answer So I have sent another email to apple saying I will not accept this and will do what ever it takes to get an answer. Im just angry that I have to use windows at work monday because my macbook pro was my main work machine Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/20403-magsafe-burning/#findComment-134768 Share on other sites
