My Acer Aspire 3610 w/ 915 Chipset has EHCI (USB2.0) working fine. My iPod shows up as 2.0 with the appropriate transfer rate.

I've tryied both but on my desktop with 915 chipset (Intel D915GAGL motherboard) it can't detect my external usb 2.0 DVD Burner, the only way in were it is detected is if I set to use it as USB 1.1

I've also tryied this with another 915 motherboard (D915PCY).

I have the same problem : on my acer 5504 (915PM chipset), my ipod and my external drive (both usb2) are working at 12MB/s. I tried to change the IOUSBFamily.kext from 10.4.3, reinstall the System.kext, disable usb legacy support in bios, but no way, they still working at low speed even if in the system profiler it's written that they are at 480MB/s!!!. It take 10 mn to copy 600Mb :(

if someone has a solution...

yeah I would love it if someone had a fix for this. I have to boot into windows if I wanna copy something to or from my VIA Chipset USB. I have an External USB2.0 hard drive and an external DVD-RW drive as well and they arent happy.. I wonder if there is a way to make the new kexts from 10.4.6 work and if they would have full speed?

  • 2 weeks later...

I have the same problem on my ibm thinkcentre. Strangly though it worked fine on 10.4.3 Now transfering from my usb drive takes ages.

Also Im having a problem of when i reboot my usb drive doesnt auto mount. I have to unplug it and plug it back in.

You know odly enough I re-installed the old Jas 10.4.3 and now I have full USB 2.0 and my usb devices keep working even after a reboot. which they where not in 10.4.7 anyone think I can just copy over the extensions from 10.4.3 to 10.4.7?
