brockwitting
I was working on my install of OS X86, and I just realized the MAX rate of all my USB storage devices is 12mbp/s... USB1.1?? WTF? Is this just my prob, or is that the problem of the Kernal, or is it the face that the 10.4.6 still uses the 10.4.4 kernal???? Any feedback? I've tryied both but on my desktop with 915 chipset (Intel D915GAGL motherboard) it can't detect my external usb 2.0 DVD Burner, the only way in were it is detected is if I set to use it as USB 1.1 I've also tryied this with another 915 motherboard (D915PCY). unixguru
I've tryed OSX with 915 and 945 chipsets and for 915 only works USB 1.1, for 945 you have full usb 2.0. I have an Intel 915 board and I hooked up my iPod with USB (usually I use Firewire). It says it says it's USB 2.0 with 480 MB/s. stevebrush
I have the same problem : on my acer 5504 (915PM chipset), my ipod and my external drive (both usb2) are working at 12MB/s. I tried to change the IOUSBFamily.kext from 10.4.3, reinstall the System.kext, disable usb legacy support in bios, but no way, they still working at low speed even if in the system profiler it's written that they are at 480MB/s!!!. It take 10 mn to copy 600Mb if someone has a solution... Antman
yeah I would love it if someone had a fix for this. I have to boot into windows if I wanna copy something to or from my VIA Chipset USB. I have an External USB2.0 hard drive and an external DVD-RW drive as well and they arent happy.. I wonder if there is a way to make the new kexts from 10.4.6 work and if they would have full speed?
