madsensei
Hello ! I finaly succeed to make my radeon 4850 working under snow leopard 10.6.2 ! (asus eah4850 1Gb) But i've got a last problem, dual screen don't work with vga adapter (there is only 2 DVI port on this card). It works with 2 DVI screen but my second screen is vga so... i've tried the following method : evoenabler, pcefi 10.3 to 10.5 and finally gfxstrings. Same results every time : no dual display with vga screen. I also tried vga screen alone, but no display (whatever the port i used) did anyone know a solution ? Mushishi
And it wont.. you need pure dvi... You would know that if you did care to read on netkas.org... Vitz
Okay so obviously 2xDVI>VGA doesn't work. Is there any chance of it going to work in the future though? rjosxasus
Hi, I have 10.6.2 and the dual DVI HD 4850 card. I've been trying everything to get my resolution fixed. currently I can't get it to change from 1024 x 768. How did you do it? (I have two DVI montors) thanks for your help in advance. Hey there RJ, we have a fairly similar setup. I'd love to know if you get the dual monitors working... I went through a lot of trial and error "testing" to get my 4670 working. Not everything that was written on netkas site was accurate (for my card/brand)- many of the 4670s actually ONLY work with VGA dongle- mine is like that. (Instead of ONLY working with pure DVI). HDMI only works on my 4650- but ONLY with a cable or dongle connected to the DVI port. None of it seems to have any rhyme or reason to it- totally random. Just look around on here and keep trying different combinations. As far as I can tell, no one has had success with dual monitors with these cards. I ended up getting a second one (the 4650, it was on sale for $45) so I can have dual monitor support. Good LUCK! scwhar
Have dual monitors on my XFX dual DVI 4850, DVI to DVI @ 1680x1050 & DVI to HDMI @ 1920x1080, I usually just have the first monitor plugged in but I just have to connect the HDMI to TV and it registers it and turns to extended desktop mode. I am just using latest chameleon with graphicsenabler=y and manually altered device ID in ati4000controller.kext, or I was in 10.6.1 but I think I had to delete or backdate a kext from S/L/E on update, not the 2 usually mentioned (3000 & 2000 contollers? which didn't work) Problem is I've forgetten which kext it was and can't seem to find any missing, it was a major headache updating to 10.6.2 Whenever the QE/CI has been working on this card (all the time except while I was fixing the update) dual screen has worked perfectly.
