retroz
I'm speaking about the Intel ADD2 cards. PCIexpress. Will they work? Best place to get them? Since it's DVI out, can't you just use one of those cheap DVI to VGA adapters? I am using GMA 950. Please advise! thanks! Success stories with GMA 950 appreciated!! errandwolfe
1. Yes the ADD2 cards do work with the GMA 950 Graphics. 2. No you can not use a DVI to VGA adapter. All current ADD2 cards are strictly digital output. You need to use a monitor with a native DVI interface. retroz
Well that bites That means my two 17" LCD side by side, matching would have to go, unless I can find a DVI Samsung with the same hight..... SynchMaster 710n Well, as you probably know, what does happen when you use a DVI to VGA converter, just wondering!!! Thanks! Yeah, you're out of luck unfortunately unless you get monitors with DVI inputs. As to what happens. The DVI signal is DVI-D on the ADD2 boards, so you'll just get a black screen if you try to use a DVI to VGA adapter (due to the missing analog signal). My Dual Vp201b's from Viewsonic seem to be very well worth it now! The add2 card works splendidly! kernalzero
bump... I'm running a P5LD2-VM with a GMA950 onboard and am looking for an ADD2 card...I've searched google and the forums and come to a good conclusion for what is the best/most compatible. I've come across the Silicon Image 1364 but can't seem to find a vendor online outside of ebay...Any recommendations for a 1440x900 resolution?? Thanks!
