Would you mind posting a guide as to why you chose the parts you did and how you went about installing the OS. From one of your posts it seems like you went with the EX58-UD5... is this the best hackintosh i7 compatible Motherboard? An 850W power supply, 22x Samsung dvd drive and a core i7 920? I would greatly appreciate it if you could write up all the components you chose, installation of hardware and eventual installation of OSX. I have the exact setup as the OP, and everything has worked flawlessly up until the install point within the OS X menu. I'm attempting to make a Windows 7 / OS X hybrid, and already have 7 installed on my rig. I shrunk my only hd partition and made a second one, then tried installing OS X onto it. The problem is the entire hd is a master boot partition instead of a GUID partition table, and OS X is asking me to fix it before it will install. I'd rather not reformat the drive as I've finally gotten Windows 7 all setup, so is there a way of installing onto a master boot partition? I've been reading online about how Apple decided to go to GUID during their Intel switch, but I've also seen a number of hackintosh guides that allow you to install on a MBR. I even formatted my thumb drive as a MBR just to see if that worked, but alas no dice. Does anyone know what I should do? Thanks! UPDATE: I finally figured it out. At first I thought I needed to change OSInstall.mpkg's distribution file, but it still didn't work after recompiling. So, after more googling I finally ran across a post describing a framework change that needed to be done. I used the supplied file and it finally allowed me to install on MBR. Any additional tips you have would be appreciated... Thanks ! -Tony My built in ethernet adapter works fine. I had bonjour working for a while, but then it stopped for some weird reason. I'm not too knowledgeable on network stuff, so time permitting I will hunt down the issue. Linux is great. I actually don't boot into the mac partition as much as I use to. I really only use it for Final cut pro and adobe stuff, but since I'm an open source multimedia advocate, I try to use GIMP, Inkscape, Blender, Audacity as much as I can. Unfortunately I'm a professional editor, and have to use proprietary applications at work to mesh with my clients. I noticed you are going with an nVidia card. In hindsight I wish I had done the same thing since Linux plays a bit nicer with that. Let me know how it goes.
