Sly2k5
like the title say: How to "ripping a DVD, shrinking it, and make a DIVX (in windows I just use DVD shrink) it seems the process in MAc is somewhat different! I've found: MacTheRipper not bad! only it rips them at 7.5Gb... Thanks. gawkersucks
Handbrake and VLC will allow you to rip just about any DVD. You need VLC because Handbrake uses the VLC decoder to decode the DVD's. Swhay
I have found the absolute best DVD ripping software is DVDFab. I have been using it for the past 2 years and only once did it have a problem ripping a DVD. Unfortunately it is windows only application. That is the only reason I run windows in a virtual machine on my Mac. http://www.dvdfab.com/ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/195583-how-ripping-a-dvd-shrinking-it-and-make-a-divx/#findComment-1322081 Share on other sites
A Nonny Moose
I use both MacTheRipper and Handbrake. Rip the DVD first and then convert it. I tend to do it this way because if there's an issue that MacTheRipper can't rip it, I know I'm in for a little fight to convert it over.
