Hi, I have had success on installing onto a Gigabyte EP45 DS3P and installed 10.6.2 update with no problems and used the EP45-UD3P drivers from the kakewalk cd as this was the nearest one to my mobo. Everything works great however....

1) Sleep doesn't work (sleeps but refuses to wake up).

2) Sound doesn't work (it's an ALC 889A)

3) High cpu temps (58 - 60c! on a Q6600)

anyone know how to fix this? thanks.

Heating Problem---You need to put the nullcpupowermanagement.kext (http://www.mediafire.com/?yvelcyjn1uy) in the extensions folder then run kext utility. I to had the heating problem but this fixed it. It will however prevent your PC from sleeping which is no real loss.

Sound Problem--- Does it show any High Def Audio Devices in System Profile? If it does you might just need to go to system pref pane/sound and select internal device

just donated for your awesomely easy hackintosh instal, it worked straight up no problems so far, except for going to sleep on its own but most of the macs Ive owned dont do that properly either.

IF anyone knows how to fix this id love to know.

never thought id buy another pc, now I dont think I will ever buy another tower at half the price for similar specs AND the fact I can upgrade my CPU in a few years for stuff all.

good times

any update with the x58a ud3r or ud5 and the ud7?

does the method of using the ud7 install work the the x58a ud3r? and the person said they were experiencing bottlenecking using that method...

any updates on that???

Cheers i'll give it a try. Do I put that file in /Extra/Extensions/ or in /System/Library/Extensions ?

Intel High Definition Audio:

 Device ID:	0x1458A102
 Audio ID:	888
 Available Devices:

i've been to the sound pane but there was nothing to select. Any ideas thanks.

Use Kext Helper application. This app will put it in /System/Library/Extensions.

About sound, have you updated to 10.6.2? Download Combo Update.

Good luck.

I successfully installed on my ep45-ud3p a few days ago without a hitch. now i am trying to run the setup on a g41m-es2l.

how would i go about installing this as i have seen people say they were successful running kakewalk/SL on this board.

Hi!

I have been running a fresh install of snow leopard, updated to 10.6.2 on my GA-EP45-DS3P, and everything works flawless, except the PCI slot.. and I need this for wifi to work. I used the GA-EP45T-UD3P settings since the only difference between these two cards are very similar, the only difference is ofcourse that it has two pci slots...

Any ideas on how to fix?

Thx in advance

Hi, I am trying to install Snow Leopard on a Gigabyte X58A-UD7. In the webshop it said EX58A-UD7, but on the box it has no 'E', not sure if that is important.

However I have followed the guide included with kakewalk(usb) and with great success on a different machine (EP45-UD3LR) and I made a new usb-stick to fit the other motherboard, but it will not show the bootloader.

It just tries to boot the OSX-SnowLeopard image directly which of course fails, but if I put the same usbstick back in the EP45-machine then it shows the bootloader just fine.

Maybe it is because I have 2 gfx-cards?

Any suggestions?

Spec:

Gigabyte X58A-UD7

Intel Core i7 920

2 x ASUS 9800GT

12 GB Kingston 1333

Intel X25M 80GB

WD 640GB

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The E is very important...

I almost went though the same thing...

I was about to run out and by the same MoBo you got.

Then I double checked this Post, and looked at both EX58 boards, and X58 ones on Newegg.com.

These are in fact very differnet boards normally X58 boards based on my reading are newer, with USB 3 and Sata 6 support, the EX58 boards are not.

This doesn't mean you can't install and get OSX working using an X58 setup, strange thing is your board maybe support by Kakewalk

This post doesn't show it, but I see it in the 2.0 version I just downloaded, but then again it could be just a type-o...

Anyway if it isn't supported by Kakewalk, you my have to use someone elses guide and/or DSDT file..

I personally found that it has become increasingly harder to find EX58 boards local, I ended up driving way out of my way to get the EX58-UD3R board from a local frys.

I have had USB problems from hell, may have the board RMA'ed, but over all everything works great...

Hi

I'm about to build a hackintosh with kakewalk.

As far as motherboards it's pretty clear: choose one from the list ;)

... but is there a list of supported graphic cards somewhere?

In case I can't find any 9500gt around here...

Thanks!

The easiest cards to get to work are Nvidia 8000 and 9000 series. I prefer the 9500GT but a 9400GT, 9800GT or 8800GT will all work either with the GraphicsEnabler key or with an EFI string.

Sorry but there is no EX58A-UD7. There is ONLY X58A-UD7. And there is EX58-UD7 with no A.

http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=308566 There they think that the board is EX58A but where in the box do you see the E?

Hi,

Since i installed 10.6 with kakewalk i have a lag ever minute or so... e.g. mouse lags for 1 sec and also if i play a movie every minute it lags shortly. :-( I first thought it was my harddisk but when i moved the movie to my ssd it did the same.

Has anyone an idea what it could be?

It it possible that it's because of the missing nullcpupowermanagement.kext?

Thx for any help!

My Specs: EX58-UD5, i7 900 2.66Ghz, 9800 GTX, 6GB Ram

Thank you very much for all your work. I am a noobie and thanks to you I have my first install of OSX! It is wonderful. One question though. Occasionally, the computer boots up very slowly from the hard drive and once loaded, the OSX 10.6 runs very slowly. I can take up to a minute for safari to open. I have window 7 on it's own hard drive and there are no issues. I leave the window drive disconnected when running OSX. Any idea what is causing this and maybe a remedy?

Thanks in advance,

Mike D :D

Hi i'm wondering does your sound work on your install?

Hello Mrjanek.

I have noticed one really weird behavior of VGA cooler and I wonder what is the cause of it.

When I play some graphic intense 3D games in full HD my VGA cooler speeds up which is quite normal, but when I exit the game it won't slow down?!? I have waited for 15-20 minutes but no slowing down. I thought that maybe GPU got really hot so I went out for a coffee and left my hackintosh to sleep. For the rest of the day I used my laptop.

Next day I woke up my hackintosh and it continued cooling GPU full speed although it was completely cold. I've restarted it and then it worked at normal speed, silent.

What could be the cause of this problem? Do you have any idea why it wont slow down?

Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3LR

Q9550

4GB DDR2 Kingston

Leadtek Winfast GeForce 9800GT 512MB DDR3

I'm using the EP45-UD3LR, but gigabit ethernet isn't working (only getting 100mbps). Does anybody else have this problem and is there a fix for this?

I'm using a Core2Quad, 9800GTX, 2x2GB GSkill DDR2, Samsung F3 HD

Other than that, thanks for all the work you've put into this. Its no doubt saved many people countless hours of work.

No support by Apple for ATI 5000 series video cards. Your best bet is to get an Nvidia 9000 series card as that can be easily made to work. 5000 support may appear this summer or fall, or maybe not at all.
