AndrewRenn
Hey, my CDRom has stopped working, so I can't burn a DVD for iDeneb, so I have decided to look around to see if I could install via Daemon tools, or alcohol 120, to my external HDD SO.. I have searched around here trying to find out how, I found one link that uses dd.exe, which didn't work for me, so I have no idea what to do. I have an external HDD, i have installed a mac on it before, but after a while, problems start happening (LOL, i still want to have it on there though), but now I don't have a CDRom to use Is there a way I can put the file on my external hd, and install it from there, or mount the iso with Daemon tools? I have Kalyway_10.5.2_DVD_Intel_Amd and also iDeneb_v1.5_1057, which one should I use, and how could I do this? (I'm on an AMD hp dv6000 laptop, btw). Thanks! kalel83
you wouldn't be able to install via dameon tools, as you can only install from within osx, not windows i've seen install via usb, so i imagine via hard drive would be possible Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/192167-my-cdrom-stopped-working-want-to-install-mac/#findComment-1298972 Share on other sites

AndrewRenn
Also, Das, The volume is too big for FAT32. I let it run all night, woke up and thats what it said Hrm, I just had an idea - I can install it to my harddrive with VMWare, then just let my computer boot up from there.. /e I'm gonna use jas 10.4.8 though, becuase I couldn't get iDeneb to work on vmware Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/192167-my-cdrom-stopped-working-want-to-install-mac/#findComment-1300519 Share on other sites
