Thanks to this DSDT I can get my DV7 1211tx to boot.Graphics work extremely well or even perfect (9600m gt) BUT l don't have USB support unless I enter in chameleon "USBBusFix=Yes". sound support unless I install voodooHDA but I'd prefer to find a more vanilla way of enabling it, and I don't have keyboard or mouse/track-pad support unless I use a USB mouse. Mammoth has a great tutorial and method to installing SL on a HP laptop.

Hello,

I have the hp pavilion dv7-1196eg with the hardware mentioned in my signature..

I already installed 10.6.1 (yeah, need to update...).

The problem is that I can't enable AHCI in bios, so that's why it doesn't boot.

Currently, 10.5.8 is installed and works perfect, as round as windows 7..

(there are 2 hard drives in this laptop, the first one is with 2 partitions: 10.5.8 retail & 10.6.1 which doesnt boot; hard disc 2 is with windows 7).

Please help me ^^

Hello,

...

Please help me ^^

I had the same issues installin 1.6 on my HP. 10.5 installation went fine, but 10.6 failed.

1. Upgrade your laptop bios to the latest

2. Use some DSDT patching mode to make valid DSDT file.

3. Use Chamelon RC4 bootloader wit fakesmc.kexts

Pleaase check http://osx86.sojugarden.com/installer/ for additional files.

Please check also http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/ for booting the installation media

I got the OS installed but have yet to be able to get USb working at all. When I look in system profiler it has nothing showing up in under the usb tab. Any and all help would be appreciated. I have the HP Pavilion DV7-1279WM it is the core 2 duo and Nvidia 9600gt graphics. I will provide any other information needed to help get the usb fixed, I am a newbie at this so you may need to do a step by step walk through.
