NeSuKuN
I'm thinking to buy this mouse for my macbook (I Love the lithium batteries and the micro receptor), Logitech doesn't mention that is compatible with Mac OS (unlike others) but probably it'll work at least as a normal mouse, will the precision change, the programable button or thehorizontall scroll work under MacOS? I don't really care about the button, but the scroll and the precision adjuster are more important to me. I though that horizontal scroll could be supported as mighty mouse's work, and the precision changer could be software independent. I really hope so! bofors
It should work perfectly with either SteerMouse or USBOverdrive. My Logittech MX510 works great, no problems on OSx86. Chrysaor
Logitech released unibin drivers/software (LCC) for OS X a while ago. My MX1000 works well with LCC. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/19172-logitech-g7/#findComment-125994 Share on other sites
bofors
I just installed the Logitech Contol Center. It is decent but not great. I reccomend SteerMouse, it has many more configuration options. bigboss
i know this is slightly off topic but im looking at either the g5 or the g7, i was going to choose the g5 since i prefer to have a wired mouse but im sure technology has improved since i bought my ms intell explorer pro. whats your opinion on the g7? is it good or bad? + whats the battery life on the g7? thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/19172-logitech-g7/#findComment-126065 Share on other sites
NeSuKuN
battery life? I think It's great, but I've just bought it, it's a excellent mouse. Comes with TWO li-ion batteries which can be changed in seconds and have one charging while using the other one. The charging time is about 2 hours, and the battery status haven't lowered any bit since I've connected it maybe hours ago. Also it has a power button to save batteries while sleeping/AFK, so the mouse won't try to detect if it's being used. The only flaw that I've found is that the wheel button is harder than what i'd wish. ultrasoul
In case any of you were going to purchase a logitech G7/ G5, Ebay has some pretty sweet deals. A new G7 on ebay is $69 and a new G5 is $50, compared to NewEgg's $70.45 and $57.45 respectively. otpinessplay
I got my Logitech G7 + a logitech Media Keyboard Elite. None of these are detected by MACOSX 86 10.04.6 (patched Myz). A simple $15 USB mouse and key works:( but not these. If anyone sucessfully installed G7 mouse a USB Keyboard sucessfully, please post. Others/ Aspiring Buyres : - Atleast buy the mouse/kb that logitech lists as compatible with MAC. If I am able to resolve mine, I will post. Otherwise the G7 will be up for sale Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/19172-logitech-g7/#findComment-152371 Share on other sites

otpinessplay
Thanks NeSuKuN. The USB port though work perfect with Windows XP (OSX being on dual boot). Even the BIOS detects the Keyboard/Mouse ! I will try all the other ports. I do see something like: APPLUSBUCUHI: Trasaction hasn't moved for 5 sec when APPLE boots. otpinessplay
=============== NOW IT WORKS ================== - I am using the 10.4.6 (Patched_Myz). Many thanks to Myz. - Initial Symptoms - Logitech G7 not detected at all - DO NOT INSTALL THE LOGITECH. Atleast didn't work for me 1. I used this link: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...Developers+Page The above thread says, get the USB Update from the Apple USB Developer link I got the "Mac OS X 10.4.7 8J2135 IOUSBFamily.kext 2.5.6 System Update for Intel based Macintosh Systems v 256.4.2" 2. Then I followed the thred http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...placed+AppleUSB Deleted all the USB Related kext's and copy the Step 1 downloaded IOUSBFamily.kext. 3. I followed the instruction by BugsBunny. Title of the thrd is "Keyboard and mouse worked in 10.4.1 but not 10.4.3+, Sony Vaio VGN-S150 (laptop)". Goto the 2nd page and follow his instruction which has kextcache -a i386... Now everytime I boot, I do get the Logitech G7 working. I have installed and tried both SteerWheel and USBOverdrive and both seems to work good. PENDING: Testing with the USBB KVM. I will post if successful Many thanks to all the people for the posts and guidance EXTRA: ======================================== Got the Vidio GeForece FX 5200 Card Working With the BETA 1 Release of NVDriver.kext Beta 2 didn't work ======================================== Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/19172-logitech-g7/#findComment-156900 Share on other sites
