Hello,

I have an Ovislink MU-9000 which acts as a LAN printserver for USB printer. When I configure this printer on windows, I need to create a IP port and use it in RAW mode on port 9100. This works fine.

Yesterday I got a hold on the OSX compiled drivers for this printer, but when setting up an IPP printer on IP 192.168.1.254:9100, the job acts as printed, but nothing comes out.

Does anyone know the correct way to send RAW to a printserver on port 9100?

Thanks in advance!

Sis

Yep, I found a solution.

I installed CUPS. When entering the CUPS admin page on http://127.0.0.1:632 I was able to add a printer on port socket://192.168.1.254:9100 and I was able to define RAW. Later this printer appeared in my printers config screen where I was able to change to the correct driver.

Regards,

Sis

  • 4 years later...

sorry for reviving old old thread sorry for that but I either don't have enough posts to create a new topic or some reason can't create one for whatever reason.

When doing this which do you select?

I have these options

Internet Printing Protocol (http)

Internet Printing Protocol (ipp)

LPD/LPR Host or Printer

Windows Printer via SAMBA

AppSocket/HP JetDirect

edit: Nevermind it started working. I thought I did something wrong cause it didn't print so I posted asking for help but by accident left the print job on and it printed after a while. It works but takes a century to start printing -.- not sure why. It was AppSocket/HP JetDirect btw.
