DappleBook
After much reading and trying a bunch of different flavors, finally got a fully functional Hackintosh AMD desktop on my recent AMD build. This is my fourth Hackintosh machine, three being on an AMD box. I'm finding the iDeneb packages to work the best on AMD computers and I have tried several other flavors to be sure. Gigabyte GA-MA790X-UD4 w/F5 bios/Athlon 64X2 5600+/4GB Ram/GeForce 7600GT 256MB/250GB SATA HD/SATA DVDRW Installation: AHCI in bios - boot from Sata Drive, Chameleon 2, Apple AtiATA for SB chipset, Voodoo 9.5, NV Kush, Realtek 8169/8111 lan drivers, shutdown fix, seatbelt kext. Everything worked OOB except the ALC889A audio. Used a modded applehda.kext from a thread on this forum to get basic sound output/mic in but hoping for a simple/complete fix at some point. USB, QE/CI, shutdown/restart, etc all working oob. Note: After installation/reboot enter bios and change first boot device to HD, second boot device to Sata Drive, then restart again (leave DVD in drive until you boot fully to OSX). I have a computer with this motherboard and i am just searching and searching for a working solution. If you could give it to me, you're my god . But anyway, thanks . DappleBook
Which distro are you trying? I have found the iDeneb to work best with this board. I do think there was a little more to it than just that kext but iirc I got basic sound and microphone to work by following this thread and downloading the file from the link posted by member prototype_sx. I also used kext helper like they suggested in the thread. Hope this helps you too. Can you please give me the applehda.kext you use at this moment?
