I had missed the fact that the memory is DDR3... and only one bank

We'll have to see if the ION LE can be made to work; the Ion was already a bit tricky on nettops. But now this is a cheap version with bits taken out for XP compatibility and DX10-Windows 7 capabilities taken out...

At least it's cheap, smallish, had a 6 cell and is still in the low 3 pounds. I can't wait to see the other Ion netbooks, especially Asus' with an N280, and how the work on OS X.

Now that I have had my Acer 10 inch for a few months, I am dying to get my hands on an ION Netbook so I can do the one thing the Acer can't- play HD content- and get rid of my larger real notebook forever!

I would love a portable XBMC box so when I got to hotels that have nicer TVs I can hook up and not have to pay the crazy On Demand fees to watch a few movies....

I have an MSI Wind but would gladly give it up for this — if, that is, everything on it can be made to work as well as it does on the MSI. Which seems unlikely, as most netbooks don't hackintosh nearly as well as the Wind does from what I can tell.

Only thing I don't get is why HP didn't make the keyboard larger — the 311 is touting as having a "94% size" keyboard, but from the looks of the photos it could have been made to be 100% size if it went edge-to-edge like the Wind. Seems like an odd design decision.
