Hi guys,

after several installations i managed to get snow leopard to boot up (both x86 and x64) on my P5Q-PRO. Unfortunatly i get a blank screen right after the boot finishes.

I had the same problem when i installed my 4870 Golden Sample on leopard because of the exotic connectivity and had to plug in the HDMI connector a HDMI-DVI-VGA adpter (on netkas' advising) to override the signal while my monitor was linked on VGA port...

Poorly this doesn't seem to do the trick with snow leopard.... if anyonehas a solution

PS: here's the port configuration

PS2: I tried all 4870 installations - EVOenabler, ATY_init, 4800controller.kext

Hey ho lets go!!

I have a Gainward Radeon 4870 GS.

Mine works with the kext found in this post:

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t&p=1245913

Everything else is vanilla

I'm using the DVI Port on the card. i didn't test vga.

No need for the HDMI-DVI-VGA Dongle.

hi guys,

I also have non-reference (DVI,D-Sub, HDMI, Display Port) 4870 and got it working the following way:

1. Install PC EFI 10.5

2. Add this to your com.apple.boot.plist:

<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>

<string>y</string>

3. Make sure to have your card's id in info.plist of ATI4800Controller.kext. Add it if you don't have it.

4. Repair permissions

5. Reboot (with -f if you modified ATI4800Controller.kext)

That's how it worked for my Palit without any additional kexts. Good luck with your brands !!!

PS: thanks to netkas for this
